It was a snowy night, a small town nestled in a valley seemed to be drifting off to sleep. The village had been built around a single tree, the tree seemed to be emanating warmth as it had no snow around or on it. This small town was the home of the gods. The gods, now when you think of gods, these ones won't come into your mind, these ones are from a long forgotten mythology. The village they'd chosen to live in, they also chose to protect, and they did that very well.
On this night one of the gods watched over the village, making sure that no one was hurt, when he saw something. Two Daemons, Abbadon's pets. He watched them, his eyes as piercing as hale. The Daemons took out bows with arrows alight, when they heard the thunder. They froze, knowing what came after that.
The god stood behind them now, his long blue cloak obscuring his body and face, but you could see his lightning blue eyes glowing. This was Tempest, Storm Bringer, Thunder Breaker, Earthshaker, god of Storms.
"You chose a bad day to do this," His voice boomed like thunder, echoing through the valley, "Don't make me fight you, because I don't want blood on my blade," As he said this he gripped his golden blade. One of the Daemons shot the arrow, followed by the other. They had chosen poorly. "I warned you."
You could smell the storm coming on before Tempest unleashed his fury. The snow turned to rain, as a thunderstorm began. The wind revealing his armor underneath his cloak. He took off his hood revealing his long dark hair. Lightning struck around him as he unsheathed his sword. He cut through them like butter, but it was too late, the town was ablaze.
Tempest called upon the gods, one in particular. Water rushed out of the wells, as a god wearing a seafoam cloak rushed people out of houses, Larc had revealed himself, The god of water. Afterwards Larc and Tempest met atop the cliff looking over the valley.
"You do know they will come, right?" Larc said to his brother, his voice like a calm ocean breeze. Tempest stood there looking over the few charred houses, "I could have saved those," He sighed. Larc looked back at him "Oh come on don't be a perfectionist," he playfully jabbed Tempest with his elbow "You saved the rest of the village, so many houses are still fine!" Tempest looked on, "But I could have saved it if I had just acted differently," Larc sighed "Look Tempest, I know you, you care so much about people. I think you need to care more about yourself" he started walking away before stopping and saying "And stop being a downer like Necro! You sound just like him!"
Necro went through the village, checking in on the people, making sure none were harmed. After he went to the tree, and found it burned down. "Of course," he said, his voice as hollow as a cold wind. He looked through the rubble and found what he was looking for, a seed. He called a meeting of the gods.
As the gods and villagers all entered the longhouse, and Necro rose, "Brothers and sisters, I have poor news," he sighed "As king I was given the responsibility of taking care of these people, of this village-" he paused, a somber look on his face- "but we must leave here. It has become unsafe," When he said this there were many confused murmurs, Tempest then rose, "I agree brother, it's safety has been compromised, does anyone have a thought of where we could go?" He looked around the room for a while before Larc spoke "I know of one, it's pretty far though..." They all looked at him, "How far?" said Necro. Larc sighed, "it's a new continent some of the nordics found, it's not as far as Europe actually-" he stopped before going on a tangent. "Well it's decided" Tempest said, "We go there."
