I like how they portrayed his desire for a physically fit body and dream skin as different from wanting to be an entirely different person. He still has parts of himself that he likes, and he loves his parents, so he wants to be their son. It gives his character more dimensionality, because people are complex like that! Looks have such a huge influence on how most people feel about themselves, and understandably so. Yet how your loved ones treat you can make a huge difference—his parents care so much about him and, as much as he's frustrated them and they get mad, they still accept him and support him however they can. Love and respect and patience can come even without understanding, and I wish more of the world could live like that. It's only Ch 1 but I hope we continue to get good family dynamics and the family and friend doesn't just fade into the background! Hope his friend is a real one too.
