They never tell you what it's like when your world gets turned upside down. How a simple act of what is supposed to be called love got tangled in lust and it had created a beautiful life. She regretted the foolish attempt to get a taste of love, but she would never regret the girl she had in her arms at the moment. How the patter of baby footsteps on the hardwood floor echoed throughout the two-storey house every morning or how her cheerful laugh resonated when she felt content.
Today was no exception. The cheerful laugh of her wonderful baby girl woke her from her sleep. She was annoyed at being awakened at such an hour, but seeing her baby's face had her heart softened and filled with a never-ending love.
The twinkling of her ocean eyes meant for mischief to come. She squealed and jumped up and down on the bed with her baby strength. Amelia could not help but to grin at her kid's playfulness. It was nothing new, but it always felt refreshing and fun to see her baby's gaiety.
She got up and picked up Alice along to the washroom. A set of squeaky ducks were laid out on the shelf. Yellow and pink greeted her baby's sights, and she tried to reach for the soft pink duck with a polka-dots headband.
