Ash was running through the thick, dark forest. She was muddy, out of breath, and still in her pajamas.
Tailing her was a gorgeous nymph with long blue hair who tried her best to keep her composure despite their predicament.
The enormous red-eyed dire wolves had been chasing them the minute they landed in that nightmarish place. The blood-curdling sound of their aggressive howls was all she could hear apart from her pulse beating in her temples.
She ducked to dodge a tree branch and almost tripped on a slippery root.
What the heck did I get myself into this time?! she thought.
It had all started when that old hag spoke to her at the park. The next day, that same crone had shown up at her apartment, wrecking her existence even further. She cursed herself for opening the door.
In truth, things had been going downhill for some time.
Now that those beasts were inches from shredding her to pieces, she realized that the mess she had experienced in her world might have just been a foretaste of what she was about to experience in this one.
