it was a new day and thornclan was organizing patrols''silverclaw''he'd meow''yes thornclaw''the warrior would answer''could you go on a hunting patrol with cloverpaw and oddfoot, the fresh kill pile is getting low and we dont have many free cats''he'd ask the gray warrior''sure i can, but where are they?''he meowed, looking around''they should be in the nursery playing with the kits, atleast thats where i last saw them''he'd meow flicking with his tail toward the nursery entrance''alright i will tell them the pile is getting low''he'd meow as he padded toward the nursery.he'd push trought the brambles and look around.''cloverpaw, oodfoot''he'd meow to the two cats''yes silverclaw?''oddfoot was the first to answer''thornclaw wants us to go on a hunting patrol, the prey pile is running low''he'd explain and flick his tail toward the fresh kill pile''can i come too?''it was spotted kit, one of leafstorms kits''no, you still have to wait a moon before becoming an apprentice.then you can go on as many patrols as you like''oddfoot meowed,spottedkit looked dissapointed but didn't say anything.''what are we waiting for?i want to go hunt!''it was cloverpaw. there was exitement in her eye's as she jumped up''alright cloverpaw's right lets get going''silverclaw meowed,the patrol pushed out of the nursery and decided to split up''i will hunt at the star lake''odd foot meowed proudly as he padded away''im going to the wise tree!''cloverpaw would meow before running into the bushes''guess im going to the old badger set''silverclaw meowed as he clawed the dirt.he'd head toward the snowclan border, turning right a bit before the thunderpath started.he arrived at the badger set and started looking for prey. he caught the scent of a trush and started tracking it.'' i got you now'' he'd think as he dragged himself closer to his prey.He'd lunge,catching the bird and finishing it off with a swift bit to the neck.he'd bury the bird, making sure he would find it again he continued hunting.he scented a squirrel and tried to detect where it was but ended up wasting his time after seeing the squirrel scrambling up a tree.stupid squirrel he'd mumble to himself but i guess i should have known that it can still see me.he wasn't mad for long since he suddenly scented a gerbil.its small but atleast it easy to catch  he'd think to himself as he dropped to a hunters crouch.he drew himself closer to his prey until he was close enough to lunge. he caught the gerbil with a swift swipe and buried it with the trush.''i should get 1 more peice of prey before heading back to camp''he'd head toward the old sycamore since he didn't scent any more prey near the badger set.a scrawny rabbit was sitting in a tiny clearing looking for food.he decided to catch it while it was distracted.he lunged at it but the rabbit got away,he didn't want to waste such good prey so he decided to chace after it. he finnaly caught it near the snowclan border and padded back to where he had buried the rest of the prey.he padded back towards camp, hoping that what he had caught was enough to feed the elders,queens and kits.he was tired after the long hunting patrol and after chasing th rabbit for so long so he layed down in his nest and settled to take a good long nap
