Maybe Me
Maybe Me Jul 25, 2021
It’s a pity that you don’t seem to post here any more!
This afternoon I talked to a colleague about translations, I mentioned I’d like to translate your children’s books into German (and that it’s easier to write gender neutral in English); he looked you up and bought your ebook “Ciel” for me – I didn’t even know you published that. Seems I’m not enough of a fanboy, even if I bought most of your books.
So, I just read through that novel, and I liked it – not as much as your comics, but I would buy a sequel.

Oh, the sequel is already announced. Looking forward to it!

I am seriously SO SORRY to bother you by saying this, but I would recommend you research QSAs (Queer SA) because then it brings in the entire LGBTQ+ community instead of shoving us under one term.
I understand some people don't like the word "Queer" but I think we are re-claiming it with statements like your comic could be.

Hi Ms. Sophie! I wasn't sure who to ask about this, but my 8-year old sister has a trans friend who got outed at school and is being bullied by another kid in their class. The school hasn't done anything about it. My sister isn't very good friends with this girl, but as an older trans person, I want to help. Do you have any suggestions?

I am not trans but I am a homosexual panromantic person so I understand what it is like to be bullied for being who you are. I would advise she talks to a school counselor or outside help, it is illegal in some places to do stuff like that. Given the date of the comment, I hope your sister is okay and well, and this whole thing is resolved but if not please try doing that or even go to the school board this sh*t should be illegal if it isn't where you are.

I'm gender fluid. My experience in a workplace setting is that if someone can step in and say in a FIRM tone that this is not acceptable actually and HERE are the acceptable things to do in this circumstance...it helps orient the people toward what they should be doing and "rewrites" the rules of engagement they may be operating off of.

Like. Just harrass the shit out of them and call them out aggressively and unceasingly. Make intolerance more trouble than it's worth..............

Sophie, I have a question. Have you ever written or considered writing a comic page regarding the 'friend zone'?
Side note: I watched some of your videos on youtube and your accent is super adorable!
