Jon is a Canadian author and screenwriter with a background in film and personal growth. He attended Vancouver Film School in 2011 and earned a $4000 scholarship for his horror thriller script Tourniquet after submitting a standout trailer treatment. He later wrote two non-fiction books, one in 2015 and another in 2022, before returning to storytelling full-time.
From 2012 to 2019, he developed The Dearly Departing as a screenplay. At the suggestion of a producer, he chose to write it as a novel first. Now complete, the book will be read by producers in late 2025. Written in first person present tense, it features a suggested soundtrack to help readers experience the story like a film unfolding in their mind.
