May is just around the corner and so is the first Next Chapter comic! I'm very excited for everyone to check it out, but in the meantime, here's a quick sneak peak of the "creature" from the comic.
It ended up going through a few iterations (this being one of the later versions), but I'm pretty happy with the creepy vibe it gives! I have to admit I wasn't quite sure what direction I wanted to take this horror comic, but the cross between the cartoonish style of the kid in page one seems to fit pretty well with this slightly more detailed creep. Anyways, I hope you'll check out the new comic at https://tapas.io/series/NextChapter and tanks for reading!

Just as a foot-note to my last post (cuz apparently there's a character limit on these posts, and I write a lot):
I'm SUPER looking forward to hearing what you all think of the new comics and drawings! I REALLY want to get better and make the best content I can for you guys, so if you have any suggestions, ideas, opinions, etc. PLEASE leave comments on the posts to let me know! It means the world to me that you guys check out my stuff and I can't wait to continue this crazy journey with all of you!
Hey All! Sorry for disappearing on you guys for a while, but I’m happy to say that after a month of catchup and reorganization, I’m back to the world of comics and drawing! I realized many things in this month away from comics. I realized, “making comics just to get content out is not a very good reason to make comics”, also, “I want to grow as an artist so I can get better at both drawing AND comics”, and “It’s really freaking hard not to draw comics for a month”. So, what’s this mean for my return? LOTS!
First off, I’m coming back with more for you guys to see from me than ever before! I’ve decided that, while world domination will always be my passion, narrative-form comics are not where I find the most fun. My mind is all over the place, and it’s hard for me to stick to a storyline. Because of this, I’ve had to make the hard decision to put YOE aside for now. I don’t intend to burn that bridge, but It’ll be some time before I give it another go. HOWEVER, in its place, I’ll be starting up 2 new series on Tapastic!
The first will be a new series under an old name. That’s right, Sketchy Antics is comic back… sorta. The New Sketchy Antics (Tapastic.com/series/SketchyAntics) will be a twice a week (Monday and Friday) comic about whatever I feel like drawing a comic about. Could be an original strip, could be a single panel, could be a comic suggested by you guys. Most likely, these comics will start out a little rough, but will get cleaner as I figure out what I want to do with them (case in point, the first Sketchy Antics comic up now!).
The second series won’t even be a comic at all. Called SketchPad (Tapastic.com/series/Sketch-Pad), this series will update twice a week as well (Tuesday and Thursday) and will contain drawings that I do in my spare time during the week. You’ll get in-process sketches, finished drawings, crazy doodles, and MORE!!!
It's great to be back! And I hope you all enjoy the new stuff! XD
I've never actually posted on here before, so first off I want to thank you all for subscribing to my old comic Sketchy Antics and/or my most recent comic YOE! You guys are really why I draw these comics and I can't thank you all enough!!!
But all excitement aside, things have been getting a little hectic lately with my day job and figuring out where I want to go with these comics in 2017 and beyond. So, I've decided to take some time off to work through everything. I wont be gone long, but I'm hoping a little break will help me figure out how to get you guys better comics, more often, and have more fun doing it! I didn't want to leave you all without a heads up, so I hope you can understand, and I'm looking forward to coming back stronger than ever!
In the meantime, you can keep up with my day-to-day on twitter at @EricLernould where you can chat with me or check out all the dumb stuff I post!
