I am going to be updating The Bonds We Cherish at a slower pace starting today, hopefully going back to the idea of 1 per week starting in the summer.
There are at least five reasons for this.
1) This gives me more time for some personal projects so I don't really burn out on this one project for the time being.
2) Currently I am a university student and fitting a comic once-a-week is a bit worrisome for me since I was a bit overambitious, but I am still determined to continue. Once summer comes this will ease up.
3) I am still learning how best to approach this comic, and feeling the pressure and deadline is not really the best environment for learning how to improve and do it quicker while maintaining the quality.
4) This gives me more time to make a quality post. I like to create some nice details but when under pressure I feel it would suffer. When I learn to maintain the quality while going quicker, this will be better.
5) I have been suffering from tendonitis. It has been improving and it feels okay, but I want to make sure I take it easy and don't push it by trying to update a comic weekly.
So I am going to be moving to a once-every-two-weeks schedule, mostly. If I have a comic to release, I will release it on that Sunday and then the comic will update two weeks after that (if I did not produce yet another early comic). This will be what I will try until the summer when university is off, I have learned new and more efficient things about doing a webcomic, and my tendonitis eases off moreso.
