I wanted to be a pilot when I was a kid.
Didn't work out.
I began my journey through life. Taught myself to draw and write stories. Went to university.
It was great!
From there to the Navy, and then the job market.
Less great...

I'm sorry for not posting on AFTO this Thursday.
A lot has happened over the last few days. I'd say "don't worry, nobody died", but it would be a lie.
There's a lot I need to manage right now, so I'll probably take a couple of weeks off from AFTO.
There is an episode of Professor Profound scheduled for Sunday, so you can look forward to that.
Again, I'm sorry.
Give me a few days, I'll be back.
Athens is celebrating Pride Month! And since AFTO is, at it's core, based on all the bullshit I saw back when I was in uniform, I'd like to send out a message this June.
The uniform is just a pair of clothes. Assholes will often use it as an excuse to bully other people, but that's all it is, an excuse. An asshole is an asshole in uniform or not. At least that was my experience as a sailor, for whatever it's worth.
I'm not, nor do I claim to be a member of the LGBTQ+ community. However, their rights are something that I will always support.
I have seen friends of mine ostracized by their families for something I'd always pay so little importance to. So much hate, over such a small part of their lives. A part I always thought was nobody else's buissness.
If you are struggling out there, let me tell you this. Don't let them win! Don't let their hate, their ignorance, their fear, get the better of you. The fight against this darkness will be long and bitter. Hold firm!
