As a single dad, Noah Williams has never had this much time on his hands. Especially after helping his son Oliver and his ex-boyfriend flee the country. While both boys relocate to the US within weeks, Noah is stuck in Japan until his transfer comes through.
To combat empty nest syndrome, Noah spends more time with his work buddy Ogawa and starts taking Japanese lessons from the woman he nearly ran over with his bicycle outside the apartment complex.
With one foot out the door, Noah is not looking for cross-cultural romantic entanglements. So what if he is developing an attraction to Ogawa? Who cares if he feels the same pull towards Akiko, his soft-spoken Japanese tutor?
As long as he doesn’t act on his feelings, there’s nothing wrong with a harmless crush. Or two.
