So, I saw the Masters of the Universe and everything it said about it being silly and insulting to He-Man is a LIE. A terrible lie. My only criticism is that two times, they cracked jokes at the wrong time, but overall, it was a great movie and I don't call many movies "great" these days. I think Hollywood is healing itself.

Today features a splash page with several cameos! I only had so much room.

Nothing like home made ice cream to cheer oneself up. Homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream made with six finely chopped After Eight bars and a cup of raw honey as well as half a teaspoon of salt so it's not too sweet.

This is the last thing I will say about the Odyssey... I think that as Greek person myself, I have every right to have an opinion on Christopher Nolan's take and even feel slightly hurt especially since he was able to respect the historical period and setting in his Dunkirk movie.

On top of that, I do NOT suddenly hate the man and never begrudged the actors. I still love the guy and I think actors are amazing. I can't hate him and I hope he never crosses a line that makes me hate him, but yes... I admit it. I'm offended as a Greek by his take on the Odyssey.

To me, it looks ridiculous. Like it should have been a spoof of which if it was, I would have been cool with it because I make satires myself and I can take a joke. However, this is supposed to be taken seriously and be high quality, but so far, it doesn't look like either to me.

And I don't think I'm a bad girl for wanting my culture and of my culture's most beloved tales presented right. The events of Troy were not pure fiction either.

You get me?

I think I can understand what you mean, madam. As I am sure you know, before I published on Tapas, and just before the pandemic, I was a Classics student - just in case you are unaware, that is a field of study dedicated to the Graeco-Roman world, NOT literary classics, although some overlap exists. It used to be a popular field of study in the good old days, in Europe and America, before it was declared obsolete in the '60s. I studied the Iliad, the Odyssey and the Aeneid at university. I was similarly offended, therefore, by Disney's Herakles film, because of the many inaccuracies it took when it came to the Twelve Labours, and, once, when the Classics Department of Kings College London got together to watch it, I refused, because I hated it so much. I was also upset to find that the only time the Aeneid was ever filmed in English was as an episode of Wishbone. At one point recently, I wrote a piece discussing the decline of Classical scholarship. Mind you, I've had similar grievances with other adaptations of said mythology - GastroPhobia, Lore Olympus, Xanadu (the one from the '80s, not the Coleridge poem).

I am forgiving Disney, Lore Olympus and even the obscure cartoon Class of the Titans because it is myth and it's for kids. So... I am not rigid and I can let it slide, but what Nolan did looks almost like he's making fun of Odyssey especially with the rap music. Also, like I mentioned before, what happened in Troy is NOT a fairy tale. It actually happened. And like I said before, he has no excuse for this because he was able to respect the historical accuracy and setting of Dunkirk.

June's art of the month is Astra enjoying a day out while coming across a cute wild hoppatiel. I love dressing Astra in fashionable clothes. Sometimes, I wish I owned them.

If Psychoborg was a live action film, this would be my dream casting: https://mk-wizard.tumblr.com/post/817616208766582784/psychoborg-dream-live-action-series

Everyone, I DID IT!! I got bread right! It turns out that the water I was using was too hot. When I waited for it to cool down a little to be warm not scalding, I was able to make a proper bread. It rises, sounds hollow when you knock the bottom and it gets lighter as it cools.

I did it! I made successful homemade ice cream! The strawberry is more successful than the chocolate one which was my second attempt. Here's how it is supposed to go for picture perfect ice cream at home every time with no need for a churner.

First, you need 2 cups (16 oz) worth of lactose free 35% whipping cream (it's fluffier), 1 can of condensed milk, 1 tsp of vanilla and whatever extra flavors you want.

1- Mix the whipping cream on high until it is fluffy and stiff like the whipped cream from a can (this takes about 2 to 3 minutes).
2- In a side bowl, mix the condensed milk, vanilla and any other flavor you want. If you're going for plain vanilla, put in 1tbsp.
3- Pour the condensed milk mix into the whipped cream and slowly mix it my hand with a spatula until full incorporated.
4- Pour the ice cream mix into a large air tight tupperware and knock the air bubbles out of it.
5- Close it tight and let it freeze overnight.
6- Let it stand out at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes, then scoop and serve.

If you are going for an ice cream with chunky pieces like cookies, chocolate chunks and such, make sure they are cut very finely to not injure a tooth.

If you are going for a chocolate or caramel or etc. ripple, incorporate the syrup at the end and stir with a long skewer just enough to spread not mix.

Trust me, this is way better than store bought and way healthier.

Everyone, it is official. After I finish Psychoborg, my main creative focus will be writing novels first and comics second and comic strips only: https://youtu.be/4Ym2urtWrbc

PS: I am still going to do that collab plot driven comic too, but that's the exception.
