Hi, I'm Maps! It's nice to have you here and thanks for reading my page!

I really enjoy reading, writing and digital art. The bits of story I am currently publishing are from something that I write for fun.

It's been 8 years since I began Vows of the Sentinel, and I decided I was ready to jump back in and start fresh. I'm revisiting my work and making edits and changes that are consistent with my vision. It's for this reason I've decided to delete my work and to start reposting from the beginning.

I hope that you enjoy this work, that has been a part of me for nearly a decade.

Hi All,

We recently had a loss in my family and I'm going to be taking a little break since I haven't really had it in me to write or edit this past week. It won't be long, but I just wanted to give a heads up. I still have a chapter ready for tomorrow, however.

Hope you're well,

Vows of the Sentinel update:

I'm now caught up to where I want to be to start pacing my chapters again. I'm planning to release chapters on Wednesdays and Saturdays (beginning June 11th).

For any of my original readers - I've reached a part in the story where I'm beginning to make minor adjustments/changes and some additions (as in added chapters!) to improve the pacing of the story.

Reading back (8 years later) from when I originally first started writing VOTS, I feel a bit more "mature" with how I'd like to write and deliver this story. And how I'd like to continue to develop these characters and their relationships.

Rather than rushing like I did in the past, I want to take care of my story this time.

So, this is a heads up if things may be shifting - just a bit! I'm trying to maintain as much of the original as possible (and tbh it really hasn't changed that much).

I want to make sure this story is paced and continues to make me happy to write/tell.

(Although, I do keep my raw version saved for nostalgia's sake, hah!)

Thanks to my new subscribers and for the likes! Really helps keep the motivation pumping.

Okay - I promise I'm reaching a point soon where I'm going to start releasing chapters at a scheduled time instead of having them all over the place (smiles apologetically).

I just wanted to get things moving along...since I've been hyper-fixated on getting Vows updated (and back up on Tapas).

I'm still deciding which days work best, but still plan for 2 chaps a week.

Thanks for being here!

Hi All!

Thanks for being here! Every subscriber/like/comment/view makes posting my work worth while.

Now that I've gotten a few Vows chapters back out, I'm going to start pacing soon. This way, I can keep consistent with posting as well as continuing to write my story.

I have A LOT of buffer, and may end up opting for two chapters a week, but for now I will be posting new chapters on Friday mornings. I'm currently visiting the West Coast, but will decide a time when I'm back on the East. I'm thinking 11am EST (8am PST).

Thanks again!!

Vows is back up and I am reposting! I will probably get the first 10 chapters or so out quickly, then will move at a weekly pace.

Hello All,

Long time no talk (and no update 😭).

Recently, I have been wanting to get back into writing and really feel determined to finish my project, Vows of the Sentinel. I originally began writing Vows on my phone notepad at a really boring FT job that I used to have, and slowly this story began growing in my head and I couldn’t stop typing. It was a lot easier at the beginning when I had a path that made sense and certain plot points I knew I wanted to hit. I wanted to be able to share my work for feedback, but I didn’t feel comfortable sharing my writing with my family or friends because it’s a personal work for me and I get embarrassed by sharing my writing with people I know (one time I showed my dad a short story I wrote and I wanted to die of embarrassment after).

The curiosity got the best of me, and I thought I’d post a few chapters to an online space to see what type of feedback I’d get. Honestly, the first few chapters were posted with the intention of getting feedback from creators on the forum (you can still see it in the comments to this day lol), but my work ended up gaining actual readers.

I made the mistake of dumping pretty much all my work in one day, when I really should have spaced it out so I could continue writing and updating consistently without feeling pressure. I want to say about 3/4ths of the way into this work, I started to post to meet deadlines to try to be consistent… and I was rushing myself. I was creating chapters that were up quickly but not quite what I want from this story. I feel like I began to rush and was deviating away from what I really intended to do with this work.

With all that said… I really want to revise my novel and start fresh. I have a lot of general editing to do with the first portions of my novel, but much of it remains how I want it to be. But for the more recent chapters… I’m ready to take them back a bit to the fork in the road where I wished to take another path. (Cont. in reply)

I’m at a point where I don’t know if I should take down my entire work and re-upload my edited chapters twice a week… or if I should keep the old version up as the “old version” and create a separate “revised version”. I don’t know how many of my followers are still around, but I wanted to send this message as a notice of my intentions.

I hope everyone is doing well and I really hope everyone has a great week.

Until next time!

I just wanted to thank everyone who gave me support on Inksgiving. Honestly, I didn't expect what I received and I'm seriously so thankful. Anyone who even just reads, likes, comments or subs to/on my works make my day. SO YEAH THANK YOU GUYS I LOVE YOU.
Also, I'm probably not going to meet that Tuesday morning deadline I've been trying to go with. I'm hoping to get my next chapter out a little later in the day, though. And with the holidays coming up I'm not sure how much I'll be able to write, but hoping to get back on schedule after this week.
Thanks again everyone!

First off, I want to say hello and thank you to all the new subscribers I have gained lately! Welcome to my works!
I am about to head out on a vacation for almost two weeks. I have been drawing and am hoping to update Vows (comic) soon after I get back. (I am going to go ahead and re-do the chapters I'm not pleased with).
I will likely not be able to post new chapters to my novel until I'm back either (I won't have access to my computer).
I just wanted to let everyone know I'm not dropping my works, I'm just going to be on a vacation.
I'll see ya in two weeks!

So... I've been actually re-drawing some chapters to the Vows comic. I am planning to change my style a bit, delete some of the old chapters I'm not proud of (chps 2+), and will be doing shorter chapters so that I can actually publish more frequently. 20 panels was ambitious for someone who also has a novel and another comic. Let alone someone who had just gotten an Ipad and was learning to draw. I'm sure my style will continue to develop, but I'd rather put out "quality" than quantity. Anyway! Thanks for the patience with that one. I've also started a new chap of the Vows novel. I hope to have it out soon enough (I'm in a wedding beginning tomorrow basically until Sunday. CRIESSSSS). Thanks for sticking with a scattered and busy creator. I appreciate you!
