I was born and raised in the United States of America. After graduating high school I became an active duty United States Marine. I served four years before leaving my military career and starting my college education. Currently, I am a University of Maryland senior pursuing a degree in communications. Additionally, I work full-time as a systems technician for a large company. Unfortunately, these take up an enormous amount of my time. However, I regularly make time for my passions, dancing, reading, and writing.
I believe my passion for reading has had the greatest impact on my skills as a writer. I regularly read over 50,000 words a day even with a very busy schedule. Even at a young age I could get lost for hours in a novel that could seemingly transport my mind to another world. As an avid reader I am exposed to a variety of writing styles, techniques, and methods. As a writer I use that exposure to refine my writing.
My current career path is not moving in the direction of becoming a writer full time. However, if financially possible, I would love to be able to pursue a career as a full time writer. The only formal writing education I have received is through high school, college courses (though none where writing was the primary focus), and independent writing classes at events. The majority of my knowledge regarding writing comes from reading, personal research, and my desire to grow as a writer.
