I am Noory Noire (formerly known as Noor Al Rassam) a graphic novelist from Cleveland, OH. I am the creator of my webtoon/graphic novel, Moonflower. I've been working on this story for the past 7 years, and wanted to incorporate my culture as an Iraqi American and tell a compelling story. I love anime and manga, comic books, and video games.

Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping by my page. A little bit about me... my name is Noor, and I am a full time designer by day, and graphic novelist by night. My bread and butter is my webtoon/comic, Moonflower. What made me want to do a story in the first place... Well, it's always been a dream of mine to create my own world. I was inspired by anime and videogames growing up. I was drawing since I was a kid.
I wanted to make a different take on a Middle Eastern themed setting, while still honoring my culture. A lot of people associate djinn with the genie from Aladdin, when growing up, the stories my family shared with me about them is 100x more terrifying lol . I've always been intrigued by Middle Eastern mythology, be it stories from the Quran, or pre-Islamic stories dating back to Babylon and Sumer.
I wanted to create a story with a female badass lead, who takes on these spirits born out of a smokeless fire, to protect humanity.
