In the past few weeks, I’ve been working hard on the dialogues and translations for the English version. I’ve always thought my writing was terrible, but I saw it as a learning opportunity and thought it would be straightforward once I had the story’s foundation ready!
Well… I was wrong! 8'D
The dialogues at the beginning felt robotic and unnatural, and the reading was torturously tedious even for me. It’s VERY hard to make it sound good when you’re not a native English speaker. I didn’t like it, and it felt like the characters didn’t have the personality I wanted for them. I've planned to give characters accents and all, but since I had no idea how to do that, their speech was like... so dumb! Seriously.
I ended up talking to some friends who are fluent in English, and they gave me tips on how to make the dialogue more fluid and authentic. This means I had to revise the dialogues in the comics so far, leading to an endless update of... practically all pages until now??? :'3 (I’m tired)
So, if you’re reading this (for some reason, or some miracle lmaooo) and felt that the characters' conversations are a bit different than before… no, you’re not imagining things, that’s what happened. The story itself did not change, though!
I apologize for the inconsistency and the sudden changes in the dialogue, but I couldn’t leave it the way it was. I promise that this kind of sudden change won’t happen again! And I'm MUCH more comfortable with how they are now owo
