It's been a while I know, if anybody sees this or is still here i want to announce I finally got a new PC (lol) barebones for now. My plans for Retro as of 2024 going forward are very simple.
a Reboot lol.
As I was making the first chapter back when I was 13-14ish i had no real direction as to where the series was going to go. You can see that if you read it.
I'm going to keep the story the same going forward from the current chapter, but I want to redo the first 15-20. However, I want to keep the first chapter the same.
other than that, I still know what I want to do for the ending still keeping the same 'originally planned' 52ish chapters. Depending on how the reboot/rebrand goes, I might use the extra ideas I had for a shorter "season 2" for Retro in some way.
As for my other series I was working as a break from Retro, 'COLLAPSE' I haven't reached a final draft version of the first chapter. I still know I want it to be short around 6 chapters short but with my rekindled desire to finish Retro, I'm not sure which one to focus on because I don't want to rush Collapse out by just drawing something like I did with the OG chapters of Retro.
After I finish Retro and Collapse, I have an idea for maybe one more long-term series, but it might be a while before I can get fully started on that.
All I have on the 3rd title is character designs and a name, no overarching idea, direction or plot yet.
The third title named after the main black female lead character is more of a post-apocalyptic few hundred years in the future type thing, interestingly its funny how we might start WW3 before I might've been able to start working on it.
UPDATES: MID JUNE EDITION-I just signed up to make a side story for Retro for SATURDAYam. Now I gotta wait to see if I can get in the 71st edition. Collapse has been really fun so far. Still planning out everything so far. I have Chapter 1 written and I'm working on 2 now. Hope to be done with enough to where I can put out 3 chapters easily and relax. Chapter 1 is gonna go up in one go. 2-5(6) might come in weekly updates. Trying to get myself back into this and I'm starting to feel it. See you guys soon!
Hey, it's been a while. I don't know what to say exactly. Life has been happening. I hit another really low point in the fall that lasted through about late winter. I'm starting to feel better. I found someone who makes me really happy, someone who I can relate to but they're farther than I am and now all I can concentrate on is how to help them the same way they helped me.
I know it's been over 8 months now since I've updated Retro. It's not that I'm bored with it or anything but I have burned myself out of it time and time again. Honestly, I was even burned out on drawing since then as well. I had high hopes for finishing it by spring but obviously, that didn't happen.
I got a job at a place back in January working with a friend, or someone who I thought was my friend but it turns out they're just a toxic person who I really don't like being around anymore. I got fired from said job and I can say I've never felt so happy and free.
I’m working on a 6 chapter story right now that I want to get out by or before summer. I'm really liking it, it's coming along quickly and when I do finish I hope you all will too.
For now, Retro is on an indefinite hiatus. Which is bad, I really love it, I love all the characters I've created for and because of it. I grew up drawing it really. But it's been so long that I've been developing it and working on it that I want so badly to work on something else. I pretty much have the entire story finished but I don't know if I have the drive to just get back to work on it as soon as I'm done with my current project which I want to put all of my focus on at the moment.
There’s a lot going on these days. With tensions building up everywhere, me figuring out what I want to do in life exactly, wondering if it's all really worth it, and trying to help someone close to me find happiness it's hard to keep a clear mind. I at least hope you can keep looking forward.
I've worked every single day for the past 5 days, ugghhh. I did get some pages done finally. It's weird looking at my old stuff. I honestly forgot how fast I was able to get pages done.
I'm uh starting a side project about the future.... again. I seem to be extremely burned out on RETRO. It's gonna be a ONE SHOT though. Nothing really tied up in a bow or anything. Just seeing where it goes. This is to help me get back into things. I already have a plot down, as I said for now there's no end goal or anything tied in a boiw, just seeing where it goes really.
I've been incredibly busy every single day of the week this month. Thankfully I'll have less on my shoulders by next week -_-. I hardly even have time to draw anymore. Adult Life SUCKS.
I was reading some interviews about one of my favorite mangakas, and got an idea I think can help me a lot. I'm gonna start making mini/shorter comics that take place within RETRO. I may or may not upload/ do them completely like a full chapter(color etc), but I feel like it'd help a lot and help me to explore characters in situations they might not end up in in the main story.
I can only show one photo for this update thingy but if you're interested, you can read this 6 page mini comic I randomly made on my tumblr here: http://star-festival.tumblr.com/post/155232028827/glad-i-got-this-done-and-uploaded-before-the-end
Happy New Year all of you!
