SupportTopaz Comics is a writer/artist duo consisting of Michelle and Jey.
Michelle is a queer writer for the webcomic Dead City and spends her free time reading and daydreaming.
Jey is a queer comic artist and occasional animator. When not working, they’re at home furiously drawing for various comic projects. Jey is the artist for the webcomic Dead City. They also write and draw the autobio comic Gender Slices. They have contributed comics to various anthologies and animated for a variety of animated shorts and re-animate projects.
We have worked together as a team creating comics for over three years, putting out the webcomic Dead City. We have also been published in the Awkward Sex Anthology, and have a comic on the feminist porn website Filthy Figments.

News update!
Jey here, after much consideration I have decided to take down Gender Slices here on Tapas.
It was not an easy decision to make but the comic itself (created from 2016 to 2020) is now outdated in lgbtq+ issues and about my own life.
Gender Slices will still be available to read on https://topazcomics.com and you can buy the book and PDF at https://topazcomics.com/shop/
I'm also continuing my autobio comics over on https://ohjoysextoy.com/ but many are nsfw/18+

Ending two long-standing webcomics in one year is a lot, Jey also ended Gender Slices back in April.
But we're so happy with how Dead City turned out.
We love these boys so much and we never could have made it this far without each other. We really stuck with it and made a great wholesome comic!
From the beginning we wanted to focus on JP and Mikael’s relationship, rather than the typical story beats of a zombie comic. And I think we succeeded at that, even if it wasn’t what everyone was expecting.
This was a way for us to learn how to create comics together and it was never meant to be a grand epic. Even so it ended up longer than we expected at 330 pages!
While we never expected that this comic would end during an actual pandemic, we hope that its messages of hope and resiliency helped.
We hope everyone enjoyed our first comic and we're really looking forward to what’s up and coming for us in the future!

Just curious, are you going to be creating any new comics since dead city is now completed? I've loved all of the comics y'all have produced!
We do specify in our individual write-ups on the last Dead City page https://tapas.io/episode/1813654?comment_id=10704879 that we're going to continue working on webcomics and we're excited to start new things. We'll be taking a break for a little while, but we are working on some shorts and new ideas!
