State of the Empire (April 2020)
Its been a while but I felt like given all the new subs and no major updates I should probably say something. The current state of the world hasn't impacted me too much and I'm extremely low risk as I bafrely left the house to begin with but the same cannot be said for Hufe the artist of Empress of Veils.
Hufe has been sick for a while now... it's not the virus but Hufe is -EXTREMELY- high risk for it and presently lives in a country where they barely respect personal space let alone social distancing practices so... yeah that's why EoV has been delayed for so long. Hopefully Hufe will have a place to work in bed soon and we'll be able to go forward.
I'm hoping to have more pages for you soon but its all going to depend on Hufe's health. I'm not great with platitudes I wish I could say I'm sorry for the delay but... I'm not. Hufe's health comes first and I'm not going to apologize for that. I hope you guys can be understanding given the circumstances.

Heyo! Its been a while since I've posted anything here! How goes it?

I've kinda had a down month after wrapping up Azure Ink, now its not finished the later chapters need some editing but the bulk of it is up and I'm happy enough to let people read it and all.
I've got a few options of where to go for my next novel so let me pitch a few of them.
> Green Armor
A Military Scifi / Mecha story about a young pilot joining a mercenary company and making a name for herself on the battlefield. You might have seen the draft I started way back when. I want to revise the opening, the hook is good what comes after it... more of a mixed bag it needs work.
> Amber Vines
A Murder Mystery Anthology. I have a recent draft of this I've already started and I do like how its shaping up. Especially the protagonist.
> Sinnibar Steel
Definitely the most risque of the bunch a story about a girl with a demon sword in her head. I'm about 50-50 about turning this one into a full on erotic novel. The premise of a lust demon who needs lust energy to cast spells sort of lends itself to a porn plot. Go figure.
> S.I.N.A.M.U.S. - Sinamus Is Not A Metro*d Universe Story
Not much to say on this one. I have an interesting tale of Sam the bounty hunter fending off space pirates and exploring hostile alien worlds. A wholly original plot do not steal.

EoV is still in production sadly my artist Hufe's computer died during this month and thus much time was spent getting things back together. Fortunately I hear production is back in full swing and I should have news soon!

Is also still in production! Dawgness sent me a preview of one of the finished pages and it looks great! I'm going to wait until this project is finished before sharing it.

Azure Ink is in its final 1st draft stages, I've started the climax but I'm waiting until the ending is complete before I release it.
I've also been going over the earliest chapters and reworking them (these changes will go live with the ending hopefully).
I don't have much in the way of comics news yet. The Bianca story line is still in the works. It certainly the most ambitious one so far and I hope people like the new direction.
The One-Shot Comic Emerald Mask should be coming up hopefully by the end of the year. I don't want to spoil the details just yet but it does directly link to Azure ink, so look forward to that.
As disappointing as it might sound, Azure ink will not be getting an immediate Sequel, Instead my next novel will be Amber Vines, a Supernatural Murder Mystery set in a remote valley in upstate Oregon. (Edit: Maybe it won't be my next novel not sure TBH)

I hope to have more news later in the year.

Well I make no promises but there is an impressively large EoV drop that should happen... sooner or later Hufe is hard at work at what is our longest story yet. No promises to when it will come out.
SINAMUS is a side project I'm working on... its a bit iffy at the moment but its what I work on as a break for Azure ink.
Azure ink is my focus right now I wanna get it ready for honest to Odin self publishing. you might have noticed old stuff getting revised and updated and that's because its very much a work in progress. no lie my editors (Yume and Elena) have been very helpful in making this project suck less and I'm eternally grateful.

Good news everyone. EoV's first con appearance went well, we sold quite a few books and all the profits from that are going back in paying Hufe for more pages. So while I saw no personal profit it does mean more pages for you overall.
Normally I pay Hufe out of my own pocket. I've been losing money on EoV since its inception. Its the only way the comic would get made. This is the first time pages will be partially funded by fans.

Bad news out of the way first. RED is still a mess and while the pages have been turned into me they required extensive corrections. I'm going to be real with you RED might have to go away for a while. I'm not happy about it but other projects are going WAY better so I'd like to focus on those.
The formerly beaten and battered graves is not only back up since the last SotE it's become kinda long actually. What can I say I've kinda been on fire with it and while it might be a mess as it only goes through the mildest of editing before release... I feel like just making progress on it is worth it.
EoV has a few new pages up and we're only 3 pages away from the start of the first sort of arc! The reflections arc will deal with some the core mechanics as to how EoV works. Basically detailing how Scarlett and Diene's marriage is supposed to work and will deal with the mystery set up in "Caroline" you really should read that one before the arc if you want a taste of where this is going.
I think that's the meat of it I'll edit this if I think of anything else newsworthy.

I've pulled Graves for now because it was VERY clear it was not up to my usual standards and I'm currently putting the finishing touches on a rewrite of Chapter 1.

I wish I assure you things will get to be more stable but so far all the things that have come up are far beyond my control. I'm doing all I can to get things updated regularly but when it comes to projects with artists involved I'm as much at the mercy of their schedules and circumstances as any of you.
I could even things out if I released a page a week or something... but I don't wanna waste your time with that. I feel like you guys would want something more fulfilling and... well a direct consequence is it's harder to hide bumps in the road compared with a stagger release. When pages are done I do try and get them collected and out as soon as possible.
Thanks for your patience I'll do my best to try and make it as rewarding as possible when new content does come around.
