Life and Death have just been created. Life was trying out his powers and made this flower, the Spider lily. He offered it to Death, but for reasons, Death cannot be in contact with other gods just yet, so Lord High (it can be either CI or DN) helps deliver the gift.
Death is wearing the Phoenix Mantle. It's for young gods who cannot control their power yet or that are too powerful for their young ages and prevents them from being consumed by them.
