Aisling Wilder is a writer of epic Urban and High Fantasy, creating worlds from her home in the west of Ireland, just on the edge of windswept Connemara.

Growing up, Aisling’s favourite stories were always those of the supernatural. From traditional folk and fairy Tales, to the stories of C.S. Lewis to Tolkien to more modern stories of Princes and Princesses, elves, fairies, enchanted swords and magic spells, she was transfixed. So much so that she would think about the stories long after they were read, carrying on in her own imagination with things that could have happened after the ‘Happily Ever After’.

As she got older, Aisling was introduced to the fantasy writings of Terry Pratchett, Robin Hobb, Ursula K. Le Guin, Robert Jordan, Mercedes Lackey, Anne McCaffrey and many more - and then she discovered Urban Fantasy, and the work of Neil Gaiman, Charles de Lint, Cassandra Clare, and of course, Anne Rice. Stories that infused the supernatural into an everyday setting.

Always fond of the dark, and the creatures of the night, Aisling found in these tales of monsters, moon lovers, shadow-dwellers, a lasting love. It was only natural then, as she began writing her own work, that these are the beings she writes about, discovering their characters, telling their stories, building their worlds and entering them, willingly.

Let her take you with her.

If you dare.
