Ivan is back where he started, cursed to collect the souls of the dead. Yet now Zerachiel is gone leaving him completely alone. He is powerless to change his fate.
That is until he meets Hades, one of the first four reapers to be created by heaven. Hades claims he can give him everything he ever wanted. All he asks for in return is the mysterious gem that Zerachiel left Ivan.
It seems perfect, and Ivan quickly returns to Abyzou and Ciara, intent on finally living his life. However, as he helps Hades he starts to suspect he is not all that he seems, and he might have more planned for the world than just living in it.
