Hey! In case you missed it, Follower is updating again! I’ve been going through some difficult health issues but I’m planning to do my best to keep up with updates. Thanks for sticking with me during my long break, it means a lot. I’m doing a lot better lately. Tapas will continue to be staggered a week or two behind the main website to help me keep my buffer going, but you can always read ahead there or even farther ahead by joining our Patreon!

Hey all! Small schedule update!
In my last post, I wrote about expecting to resume updates at the beginning of February. We are close to that now! However, I've found that my working pace is slower than I'd hoped, so in order to let myself have enough resting time between pages and account for bad days with my wrists and shoulders, I'm pushing the return date out a few weeks to February 21. I was maybe a little overly optimistic about how fast I'd be able to work, and I'm coming to terms with the reality of that. I'm really sorry to disappoint with this, but I have to take care of my body first or I'll just be making more difficulty and delays for myself in the future.
That said, I've been doing significantly better now that I have an actual means to control some of my chronic pain. I still have some ongoing issues with joint dislocations which throws me off, but that's going to be dealt with over the long term.
In any case, thanks for reading, and thanks for sticking with me!

Hey friends! It’s been a while since I’ve updated, so here I am, because I have one!
So, Follower has been on an extended hiatus while I’ve been dealing with health issues and pain problems, and I think I’ve finally made some progress dealing with all this. You can read more about it in the latest Chio Chronicles newsletter or in more detail on my personal Tumblr, but in either case, I’ve been feeling significantly better over the past couple days, to the point where my really problematic shoulder is practically normally usable again. I’m in disbelief and very, very happy about this development.
Anyway! I’ve been working on drawing, specifically on Follower updates, and assuming things continue in this way for the foreseeable future (I have no reason to think they won’t) I’m aiming for a return to regular updates at http://follower.messenger-comic.com February 1, 2024. (Updates on mirror sites like this one will come afterward, probably staggered by a week or so.) I’m overshooting a little, I would have liked to start at the beginning of January, but I want to be realistic about my limitations. And this date could still change if I keep having trouble over the long term, but I feel like I’m finally on track to things starting to get better.
Thanks for continuing to stick with me despite how complicated and slow this has all been! I’ve been dying to draw for months and now I can and it’s absolutely wild. I can’t wait to get more pages done and posted! As usual, subbing to the Chio Club via Patreon or Ko-Fi will get you access to whatever I’m working on at the moment.
