Hey kids! So I am very 🙌 to announce that I’m having my first comic published by Birdcage Bottom 📚! Here’s the pitch:
“A Lone Deer At The End Of The 🌍 is the story of a deer that wanders out of the woods and stumbles across the ruins of an abandoned mall. Inside, among the formerly grand structures and trappings of a forgotten society, a presence still remains behind waiting to be uncovered.”
@birdcagebottombooks has launched a Kickstarter to fund their whole 2018 print run, including my 📓. So you can pre-order my 📓 along with lots of other 🆒 stuff from other comic creators.

I’m offering some awesome rewards too, like another deer themed comic “I Saw A Deer: The Slightly True Story of a Deer I Saw Once” which is a 12 page mini comic with a blockprinted cover on handmade paper (Plus more 🆒 stuff). Look for the “Deer Trilogy” reward tier.

Hey kids. If anyone is in the Salt Lake City area this weekend I'll be tabling at Salt Lake Comic Con, Artist Alley Silver 31. I've got all kinds of stuff (including print copies of FHY - All chapters including the current one). I created a sort of experimental one page comic print thing for the show. Let me know what you you think of it. What does it mean? I don't know.
Am I in the Salt Lake City area? No. Am I sad about it? I am now.
This - looks mysteriously ominous; gives me a creeped-out feeling ... I don't know whether I should feel afraid OF or FOR the guy shown here ... or is it a dream, a nightmare triggered by his wish to keep his family safe?
Very Interesting interpretations. I love it. I tried to keep the meaning open so whatever feeling it gives you is totally valid. I will say that it sort of serves as a "prequel" to a mini comic I'm working on.
Then I hope to learn more some day! :)
btw: I would be very tempted by food portraits!
Hey, your 12 pages for the contest were amazing! Beautiful! I can't believe they only chose two winners out of the 5 spots they said they'd have. Have you thought about submitting it to a different publisher?
Oh, thanks man. I don't have any immediate plans to submit to any other publishers. I have several other projects I'm working on at the moment that are further another in completion than the Scholastic project, so I'm going to focus on those. I'll probably revisit it in the future, but it'll probably be a while before then.
Did you happen to see the work of the 2 winners? Their art was not the best I've seen so clearly they chose the books mainly on the types of stories they wanted to have published. That was slightly comforting to me anyways!
Hey Tapastic FHY readers! So, a while back I submitted to a publishing contest put on by Graphix (an imprint of Scholastic). Ultimately my submission wasn’t chosen, which is a bummer, but I was proud of the work I put into the pages I created. I wasn’t planning on sharing, but a friend of mine who also submitted shared his submission and my boy Brandon Dayton created a video recently about Fear and relating it to art and I realized that I didn’t tell anyone (outside of a few close friends) that I was working on this because I didn’t want to end up failing in a public way. So I was letting fear of failure keep me from sharing. So with that in mind, I’m sharing them now. I’d like to visit this story again at some point in the future, but it likely wouldn’t be for a while.

This is so awesome. I am jealous. I have tried so hard to get this to work on my cardboard computer, but it never works out. Gotta try to catch yours, though!
What software are you using?
I have tried xSplit and OBS. Maybe one other? I can't remember. (All on Windows.)
Yeah, I use OBS. It's not so great. There's often some lag, but whatevs. No one watches, anyway :(
