lol not sure I can explain that without a drawing or something. But I'd say it helps to look at the actual bones in the hands and try to break them down into parts. I usually start with the palm, then index and pinky fingers, and then the thumb, just to make sure it has a good rough shape, the rest from there is mostly trial and error. but there are a lot of very great guides you can find just by googling. ^_^
