I was born in the Isle of Man in 1966 and have spent almost my whole life living there. I came out as gay in 2018 and am contentedly single.
My passion for writing began after i started documenting my travels to African destinations on safari with friends. I now finds that writing and, more specifically, publishing, is a cathartic release for my pent-up thoughts and emotions.
I work in the opposite direction to many other authors on Tapas. I write, finish and self-publish the whole novel on Amazon first, then make episodes available later.
If you want to read ahead, then you can buy a copy of the finished work electronically or in print.
While the desire to write might feel relentless, the actual writing can sometimes be much harder to get on with than it should be. Maybe I should make better notes, but I'm a flow writer.
Sticking to things that are in-universe can be a big help, so sometimes that's an accompanying photo or sometimes, its a map.
Working title is Flame of the West. Nothing to do with LOTR, despite the map style. Title came to me when listening to the song of the same name by Big Country. Can you weave an entire mythology from the lyrics of a song? We'll see!

Hi David- As a subscriber of Singlets and Secrets, I wanted to share HUGE NEWS with you! The book is IN PRINT with a FABULOUS NEW COVER! I’ll share it below. I want to show the big publishers what us Tapas authors can do, and so I am asking for support, but NOT money!
Would you PLEASE leave a review of Singlets and Secrets on my Amazon page and Goodreads page when you can (links below)? Even one sentence would be AMAZING! Like an Uber driver, I need five-star reviews to make an impact in the print publishing world. I am swimming with big fish, and I hope my Tapas readers will help me stand out from the crowd! :)
And OF COURSE, get that beautiful physical copy for yourself and a friend when you can. Look me up on your socials and follow me, if you want too, because I will be giving away prizes and sharing news about what’s next with the series. The book is published under my real name, Joe Chianakas. Socials are @joechianakas in most cases.
