it would take some time to delete every single episode of anthrel one by one so i'm gonna delete the series!! a copy of my statement is on my creator page (where you're probably reading this) and yeah, i might redo that comic one day so don't lose hope!!

Hi guys, I hope you're well!
I wanted to announce that, though it's kind of like my baby, I will be ending Anthrel for the foreseeable future and deleting most online traces of it, including this Tapas series (I might also post this statement as a notice so it stays on the record).
There's a couple of reasons, but the catalyst was receiving a comment on the (now wiped) Toyhouse alt that the concept is, at best, insensitive, and that as a white person this isn't really something I should be writing. Obviously one person of colour's opinion isn't universal and I know that there's POC - religious and nonreligious - who read Anthrel and call me out when I say something wrong or miss an important historical detail, but loyal readers also know I'm the kind of person to have a breakdown over the smallest bits of feedback.
There's other reasons, like how hard I cringe at old art, hating stupid decisions I made because I didn't research a time period enough (hey remember when I used the word "India" in like, the second century), and also general anxiety and depression-related problems that make it hard to put effort into the things I love. But, the first reason I mentioned is the main one.
And that's why I want to put Anthrel back in the Disney vault. There's a lot of stuff I still wanted to do with this concept and it's hard to let a passion project like this go, but it's probably for the best. And if I do ever bring this back, it would be from scratch with stronger planning, research, and consultation. And if I don't, then I have a ton of other ideas for original stories that have been gathering dust, so you haven't seen the last of me!
So, this is goodbye to Anthrel. Maybe I'm a coward for letting it go but I'd feel like an asshole if I didn't. I'm so grateful to everyone that has kept up with this series and I hope to see you all on my next adventure!
