Yesterday had been distracting. Carl had been thinking about nothing but that demon's return, looking out of the window, he wondered how he hadn't killed himself yet. A chance at life, perhaps? Yeah, right. As if that's even a thing, God had never even been on his side before because if he had then why did He make Carl go through hell?
Brianna had came into the room with a tray of fresh pancakes, drizzling with maple syrup.
"Mom said you need to eat and since you're my responsibility, I need to make sure you eat before I leave the house today."
Carl tilted his head slightly and nodded, he had forgot that Brianna was going to 'hang out' with Tilda today and since she had been so excited lately, who was Carl to ruin her fun?
Carl dug into his plate of pancakes, making sure to eat as Brianna putted on her winter fluff coat before sighing as the cold breeze flew by.
"Close that window, would you? It's cold."
Carl did just that before the vibration of his phone stopped him midway. A message. How strange? Carl hadn't heard from Jackson or Maria these past days and Jim had stopped bothering with him. Well, he's probably busy or something.
Picking up the phone and glaring at the stone-cold screen, the contact number read unknown, making Carl more curious than he already was.
Unknown-number:
Carl? Can we meet up at the beachside café this week? Wednesday, perhaps?
Carl glared. How suspicious. Brianna had slammed the door as she left the teen all alone at home again. Carl had only replied with 'sure.' If the stranger knew his name then he might as well had been a friend, right?
The rest of the afternoon had been cold as Carl sat in bed reading some manga that he lent from his friend. Some random yaoi omega-verse manga. Carl didn't why but the made-up universe had always seemed so fascinating in his opinion.

Thank God, can't wait to see you! I knew you would say yes. We use to go there all the time, remember?
Reality hit Carl hard. It's him.
Had Carl really just dig his own grave? Answer would be yes.
