I said good night to Cinderella and headed down to my room. I still can’t believe I convinced my dad to let me go to school here. From the texts I had been getting from Ella lately, I knew she was overworking herself. I sighed and slung my leather satchel over my shoulder and continued to walk to my room. When I opened the door I had no idea how to react. Posters of dragons hung on the walls, red Chinese lanterns hung all around the room. One of the beds was dressed in red satin sheets and pillows. An Asian guy sat in the middle of the bed wearing giant red headphones over his long black hair. He typed away on his laptop not noticing me, so I walked over to where my suitcases sat and started to unpack. When I looked at my side of the room everything was white. The bed sheets, walls, dresser, and nightstand were all white and plane. Makes you wonder if they had ever heard of color. After I finished unpacking my suitcases and had everything put away I plopped down on my bed and took a photo off my nightstand. The photo had been taken over the summer before I had left for France. Ella was smiling, her long blonde hair flowing in the wind. Her bright blue eyes sparkled in the light, I’ve always told her she was beautiful, but she just brushes me off.
“Hey, dude. Snap out of it.” I blinked, my daydream ended. I looked up at the guy who was snapping his fingers in front of my face. "Now that you’re focused, I wanted to welcome you to the S.S.R.K. I’m Mushu.“ He stuck his hand out and I shook it.
“Jaq, nice to meet you.” Shu smiled and looked at the photo I was holding.
“Who’s the girl?”
“Cinderella, she’s a friend of mine and a student here.” He nodded.
“I thought she looked familiar.” Now that I could see the guy I looked him over. He has dark brown eyes and black hair that had highlights of blue, gold and red. Slim with some muscle that was more toned than defined. We talked for a short while before I yawned. Tired from all the traveling I’ve done today, as soon as my head hit the pillow I was out.
Cinderella and I were walking down the hall to my first class in this school. She caught me up on what we were going over in class and gave me her notes so I could look at them. I left her in the classroom right next to mine. My first class is math while she has history class. I never really worry about school, it’s always come easily to me, but I let Ella explain things to me and give me notes and such. When I walked into the classroom I smiled, guess who’s in my class. Charming, or that’s what Ella calls him. She had overheard one of his friends calling him it and thought it was funny and ironic so she kept it. I decided to take a seat in the front of the class so I could get a better view of the board. As soon as I sat down I started to count. I didn’t even make it to five before Charming showed up.
“Welcome to the S.S.R.K. I wanted to introduce myself. I’m Henery.” I smiled and looked at him.
“I already know what you want.”
“Oh, do you know.”
“Oh yes, I do.” I leaned back in my chair and grinned. To me, this was damn funny. “You see as long as you try all your old moves on her she’s never going to like you. She won’t even give you the time of day.” Henery took a seat next to me.
“So you’re saying that no matter what I do she won’t like me?” I shook my head
“No. I’m not saying that.”
“Then what are you saying?”
“Don’t work so hard.” With that, I turned forward and smiled. Our teacher Mrs. Radcliffe walked in.
“If everyone could get into their seats I would like to start.” She said loudly as she walked into the room.
