I ran back to the school and up to my room. As soon as I entered the room I started talking telling Meli what had happened only when I looked over to her side of the room she wasn’t there. The room was empty, Meli still wasn’t back from being out with Gavin. Taking a seat on the floor I pulled out my school paper and all the ingredients I collected. I grabbed a crushing bowl off my dresser and slowly added the ingredients into it. Once everything was crushed I added little drops of water and slowly mushed the crushed the powder around a short wick. I set the triangle shaped incense off to the side to let it dry. I headed to the library to look up some information on pixies. I took the front hall down to the library and started walking through the shelves. I was walking down the shelves in the back of the library when I heard a thump and some whispering. I stopped and lessened.
“Do you hear what you’re saying? You sound crazy.”
“I’m not crazy! I’m a goddess and on Halloween night my powers will be released and you will bow down to me.” I peeked around the bookshelf and found Darcy pushing Blade up agents the shelves. She put her hands on his stomach and ran them up to his chest. “I want to cause trouble. I want evil, darkness, sadness, anger, fighting and heartache. Can you do that or me?”
“Sure babe, I can do that.” He put his hands on her hips and pulled her into him. When they started making out and grinding on each other I snuck away. With the scene playing in my head over and over again I found my pixie book and headed back to my room. As soon as I got to my room I dropped the book on my bed and grabbed my phone and texted everyone to meet me at the beach. Picking up my book and shoving my phone back into my pocket I headed back out but this time to our beach. I found Hayden and Cara there when I arrived.
“Where’s Gavin and Meli?”
“They think there on to something.” I waved my hand at Hayden to stop him and I started to pace. As I paced I told them what happened at the library.
“Darcy told me. She told me on the first day that we met that her name means darkness.” I sad when I was finished.
“Well that’s all well and good but what are we going to do about it?” Hayden asked. I kept pacing.
“We wait for Gavin and Meli and see what they’ve got.” Cara said. Hayden could tell I was starting to freak out so he walked over to me and started rubbing my shoulders.
“You need to relax. Don’t stress yourself out it’s not good for you.” He whispered in my ear.
“Sigh. I know, I’m just worried that we won’t be able to do anything.” Hayden turned me around and looked into my eyes.
“Will figure something out. I know we will.” I leaned against him, resting my head on his chest.
“I forgot, I have to tell you about what happened at the green house.” I told them about my doing my homework and going to the greenhouse and how I had gotten chased out by a pixie. I picked up the book I brought and searched through it. When I found the photo of the right one I showed it to Hayden and Cara. Started reading the passage in the book.
“Some pixies have a human origin. Their said to be unnaturally beautiful with pointy ears and slanted eyes. Their forms are usually tiny and they can contract human illness. Pixies are good in origin, they like to play tricks but also like to help. There are different types of pixies, garden, forest, ice, banshee, brownies, and water. Garden pixies take care of gardens. Everything grows bigger and stays alive longer. They will let you pick what you like but frown upon stealing. They can get mad quite easily… that’s what attacked me after I picked the flower.”
“She must have gotten mad at you for taking what you didn’t need.” Hayden said.
“Do you think any of these pixies can help us with contacting the goddess?” I said out loud. Cara answered me.
“I don’t know Banshee’s are silent unless someone magical dies than you can hear them crying. Brownies attach themselves to humans and or households. Dryads hide in oak trees but we don’t know much about them, and water pixies provide food and beauty within. They teach and take care of oceans, river and lakes. They can be friend or foe.”
“So we need water pixies.”
“How do we get them than?” I flipped through the book before stopping at a page called calling the fairy folk.
“Here’s a spell for calling fairies. We could use it to gather them and ask for their help.” Agreeing we picked up our stuff and headed back to the school.
A few days passed where we lived normal lives where we woke up, went to class, ate dinner and went back to bed. There was no talk about goddesses or pixies and crazy teen battles. On Thursday I had a celtic class and it was strange. We learned about earth, air, fire and water and how to place them on a pentagram and how to use them with magick.
“Air, Fire, Water, Earth are like North, South, East, West. We are the center.” My teacher told us that each element has its place in the world. Where we are the center, the balance. He gave us four spells to try before next class. An earth spell, water spell, a fire spell and an air spell. We also have to learn about our goddess spell. After class I headed down the hall to magick class. On my way I found a girl crying and leaning against the wall. When I stopped and looked at her she headed towards the bathroom. I don’t know why but I followed her. When I walked into the bathroom she was blotting her eyes with a paper towel.
“Are you okay?” the girl looked up at me, black smears streaked down her cheeks.
“My boyfriend just broke up with me and my friends are being mean to me about it.” Sniff, sniff. “I don’t understand what happened… yesterday everything was fine, we were all happy. It’s like everything changed.” That’s when I realized the spell Darcy conjured is starting to work. I looked over at the girl again. She wasn’t affected. The spell doesn’t affect everyone.
I pulled my notebook out of my backpack and wrote down my cell number and room number on a piece of paper and handed to the girl.
“If you ever need anything call me or stop by.” She took the paper and looked up at me tears still running down her face.
“Thank you.” I smiled and left her to fix herself up. I headed to class with a plan working in my head.
