I looked up at Henery, he seemed to be showing up a lot lately. I looked back down at the work I was doing.

“Homework.” He didn’t need to know that it wasn’t mine but Drizella’s. Anastasia’s not as bad as Drizella and her mother. She kind of just stands there and lets it happen, but I can’t blame her. I wouldn’t want them turning on her too. I closed my books and put everything away. He followed me out of the library and down the hall. “Why are you following me?” He smiled at me. I felt the pit of my stomach heat up like it did whenever he smiled.

“I just want to spend time with you.”

“Why?”

“I like you. I want to get to know you.” I nodded my head and kept walking. I really didn’t know what to say to that. I didn’t expect him to just put it out there like that.
