I hopped on the bike and rode around the neighborhood. I passed houses among houses. Turning corner after corner. In the end, I ended up lost. "The night keeps getting better doesn't it?" I mumbled under my breath. I rode around searching for a familiar place, but I had no luck. As I rode around looking for the slightest sign of familiarity, it became harder to ride and I soon noticed the tires on the bike were popped. I jumped off the bike and rolled it alongside me. I keep screwing everything up. Not long after I came across a park bench, and I sat down to think about what to do. I don't have a phone, and neither do any of my family members. Great. My eyes started to water. Tears rolled down my cheeks and dripped onto my neck. I wiped my face with my wrists and stood. I grabbed the bike and walked around for awhile. Now, it's about 12 AM and I've come across a gas station. Thankfully most gas stations are open 24/7 including this one. I sat down at the entrance to think about how to get home. It seemed hopeless. I closed my eyes and leaned on the wall of the gas station. "Rebel?" A familiar voice asked. I opened my eyes to see Axel in all his glory and bed head. "What are you doing here?" He asked sitting down next to me. "I-I can't get home," I told him holding onto my knees. "What do you mean? Can't you drive?" He asked me curiously. "No.," I said. "Well don't you have a phone to call your parents?" He asked me. "No... and my mom and sisters don't either, so it doesn't make a difference." I added. "Well, I can take you home." He said, now wearing a smile. "Really?" I asked happily. "Of course!" He exclaimed. "Where do you live?" He asked standing. Oh right... my house. Well, I guess it's give him my address or stay here stranded. "600 Shady Lane," I told him. "Alright." He said showing me to his car.
His car is so nice. The seats have warmers there's space, and it looks really nice. He must work hard for this stuff. We soon arrived at my house. "You live here?" Axel asked. "Y-yeah," I said looking down. I clenched my fists on my knees and got out. "Rebel!" Nova and Eida shouted running to me. "What?" I asked. They looked worried. "It's mom." They told me. I froze. "What happened?!" I asked them. "I don't know," Nova said crying. "She was really worried about you, I think she had a stroke!" I ran inside to mom. I didn't know Axel had heard everything and was now calling an ambulance. When I saw mom, I knew it was my fault. If I hadn't run away from my problems like that, she wouldn't have had to worry so much and end up like this. Soon the ambulance came, and Eida and Nova ride in the ambulance with mom while Axel took me by car. At this point, my whole face was wet with tears. Axel didn't know what to say, but I could tell he cared and wanted to say something that would comfort me. So I didn't complain.
Once we had arrived at the hospital mom was rushed into a room, while Eida, Nova, Axel and I stayed in the waiting room. I sat between Nova and Axel. Nova wasn't crying because she had to set an example, though she wanted to just as bad as any. Eida, on the other hand, was crying almost as much as me. Now it's 3 AM and we haven't heard anything. Nova and Eida were lying down because they still had school. I didn't, and Axel stayed awake because I did. I feel bad for making him drive me. I'm sure there are things he'd rather be doing, such as sleeping. "Axel," I said looking at him. "I-I'm sorry I dragged you into this mess with me," I told him adverting my eyes from his. "Don't you dare say that." He said sternly. "You didn't drag me into anything. I offered to drive you didn't I, and I never complained because there's nothing I'd rather do than be here with you." He told me. Really? Is it possible? That... Axel's gay.
