Like straight from a water tap that was left open, the bubbles kept flowing from the two areas we disturbed beforehand; on our left and right sides . The bubbles on this quarter section were building up. This would activate the bubble self-defense mechanism in 3/4's of the chamber! Why am I so excited about the perils of these fiends? :sadistic grin:
"Stop!" - it obeys my command and sits on the stomach-floor so I can ride it ASAP. "You're a fast learner!" - I compliment him and tap its back so it knows we can take off.
We cross the bubble-bomb field. With precise navigation, we were able to dodge them. New waves of bubbles followed us to the center of the stomach, causing their imminent burst against themselves. The stomach's recovery was astonishing! it tried to compress itself to its original size, but the gastric acid falling upon it kept injuring him; causing it to stretch and deform.
We reached the last quarter of the stomach-chamber, 4/4's. Armed with sharp weapons alongside with my friend, we penetrated its flesh.
"One time, one time. Make it happen!" - I yelled as we slashed layers of fish fillet in great haste. The bubbles cropped up, but were still attached to the stomach. The stomach-wall looked disgusting; scarred bleeding tissue missing parts of its skin. My friend stopped pecking at the right moment and sat on the floor waiting for me.
"Wait for it" - I stop hitting the stomach to limit the number of bubbles growing since every spot that we hit, spawns a bubble. I turn back and stare at the bubbles that are gathering. I take 4 steps forward to create some space for the emerging bubbles to detach and float, the bird follows me, and I try to find a path to pursue.
"Kroah!!! Kroah!!!" - He alerts me, and I swear that if he could speak, he would have said, "Dude, let's GTFO!!".
I stand sideways to be able to tilt my head and see the movement of both waves between us. The bubbles were becoming a swarm, but some were sloppy and burst along the way. My friend gets anxious, starts turning in circles, and growls at me.
"Keep steady! look at me!" - I hug him and cover its eyes, leaning its face to my chest; concealing the menacing toxic bubbles from his sight.
"Get ready!" - The bird raises its head and looks at me with determination. I walk to his right flank; sliding my hand along its feathers to show him my trust.
"Set!" - I mount him, wait for the bubbles to get even closer, and...
"Go!!!" - I yell, raise my beak-feast, and we dash close to the edge of the wall; avoiding the infestation found in the center.
Bubbles continued following the path we traced. We were circling the stomach. This caused new waves of bubbles being detached to meet the bubbles behind our trace and explode! The explosions triggered were close to the bleeding wounds of the stomach-wall, which after getting splashed by gastric acid, convulsed in agony.
Drops produced further bleeding and punctured more cavities where bubbles would materialize from. The stomach continued expanding, just how far could it go? This strategy could not work indefinitely as the number of bubbles swarming around the stomach-walls continued to multiply out of control.
Like a border collie hounding sheep, we spiraled towards the center of the stomach; detonating bubbles with their own contact. The stomach floor was degenerating. A sunlight lit a tunnel and illuminated the room for brief seconds before vanishing; at the same time, a groan could be heard. It was the groan of the beast that swallowed us!
Drops splashed faster than it could recover and regain its shape; they were deforming its tissue beyond recognition and making it groan in agony. Suddenly, water started coming in through the tunnel, and it began flooding the stomach-chamber. The water was reducing our speed, yet we continued spiraling towards the center of the beast. A sizeable amount of bubbles popped; luckily, the toxic drops' density was heavier than the water and they sunk down to be absorbed by the pores of the beast.
We reached the center, along the way, the number of bubbles had been reduced but the water level continued rising; covering my friend's legs. The water would soon gives us floating access to the tunnel which we were not able to reach previously. Bubbles kept detaching from the walls in swarms.
We ran to the opposite end of the tunnel, stared decisively at how the sunlight illuminated the tunnel, and waited for more bubbles to surround us…
