The rain fell slowly, as if caressing the Earth lovingly with its tender droplets. Reviving nature little by little, the smell almost intoxicating and warm; the feeling of freedom so prevalent in its wake.
There she stood barefoot amongst the wet grass, spinning around as it rained down on her, and she laughed, and she cried, and she felt truly alive. The water danced around her, in synch with her movements, and then it stopped- suspended on air, as if time had come to a halt, but no, that wasn’t so.
With a flick of her wrist, the drowning sound came alive again, the rain seeping into her with a coldness that felt like home. This magic had been a part of her since forever, undying and completely hers, older than time and stronger than life.
Humanity had long since bled out of her, leaving only her true essence, her magic and water. Kindness and love filled her heart, but so did rage and sadness, and so she kept smiling and weeping, while she spun around and the rain fell.
