“I am doing well. It has been a while Mr. Evergreen.” Briceson replied.
“That is good. And how is your wife?” He inquired, stepping down the last step to the open foyer.
The foyer was a large circular area formed by the white pillars that hid the rooms that laid against the wall. The marble floor was engraved with the Evergreen Crest; a star sigil representing power, life, and wealth. Surrounding the sigil was the sentence,
"The Power of an Evergreen lies within their mind."
Near the pillars was their daughter, Vanessa Evergreen who only twelve years old. She wore a short pink dress that hugged her body tightly. Pink laced shoes crawled up her legs and she stood on her tip-toes. Her brown hair was braided into two and fell on her shoulders. On her face, she wore a visage similar to her Mother’s. Dark eyes, pink cheeks, except hers had red lips.
She was a Coryphee Celestial, someone who is able to shift their bodies around elegantly and exaggerate their every move. They trained their entire lives in order to be as fluid as water.
“She has been ill the last couple of days Mr. Evergreen. She caught the pox and is currently residing in Creak Will Hospital.” Briceson answered.
“I am sorry to hear that.” He waved his hand at Vanessa who stepped out from the pillar and bowed.
“She will be alright. She is strong. How is the Missus?” he asked.
He chuckled, sauntering to the left, “Antabel has been…anxious. This is why I am calling you.”
He paused as he opened one of the brown doors pressed against the white walls and stepped foot inside, “You see…It’s about Iesa.”
He gazed around the burgundy colored office space that carried books about the Lithium on the shelves, a long desk that had neatly stacked papers along with a golden lamp whose neck shifted down. There were no windows on the paneled walls which means that the light could never touch this room. He made sure there were no House Servants cleaning the space.
“Is something wrong with him? Have you been giving him the medicine in his food like I told you to?” Briceson questioned.
He exhaled, “We did and currently are. But he’s become curious about the world around him and about his condition. He believes that he may have been diagnosed wrongly and that he might not be ill.”
“That is a problem,” Briceson confirmed.
“It is a huge problem. He must be kept inside that room at all times. I am not having a repeat of what happened last time occur!” Fear and anger gripped his voice and shook it. He opened his mouth to say more but closed it. He didn’t want to concern Doctor Junior with his madding thoughts of killing his son. Murder is a sin among the Celestials and the Humans after all.
“I understand your concern Mr. Evergreen. What would be the best time for me to come over?” he inquired.
“In two days. Tonight is the Solis Ball and we shall be attending and will not be back until morning. We’ve already told Iesa this, so the next time we visit him, you will be there with us.”
