“Where’s Evan?” was the first thing Maria asked when she appeared in front of the door.
She was wearing a bright red dress, her hair messy and her lipstick smudged. She had a hazed look on her face and I knew right that instant what happened to make her look like that.
I narrowed my eyes at her.
“What did Tyler do now?”
She ignored my question, pushing me aside to get inside my room.
“Evan!”
Anthony and Kenneth saw Maria barging inside the living room. A normal student would have panicked at the sight of the head mistress of North Vale appearing in their dorm room but the Torres-Shao brothers were already too closer with my cousin just because their little brother had been chasing her ever since he first laid eyes on her.
“Oh, Maria!” Anthony called, holding a bottle of beer while smoking a joint. “Here to join us?”
Her eyes widened after seeing Evan hanging out with my friends while playing PS4 in the television.
“Evan!” she barked, “we’re going home!”
She charged towards her little brother, carrying him against his will. Clark, who was playing with Evan, paused the game to stand up.
“Let go! I still wanna play!” Evan resisted, hitting Maria’s chest but she wasn’t backing out.
Instead, she glared at me.
“You’re going to pay for what you’ve done to Chong, Hiro. If not, I’m going to tell uncle Earl and uncle Matthias to take you back home in New York, you understand?!”
I raised a brow at her. Was she in her period? She’s normally not this irritated. Something must have definitely happened with her and Tyler.
“What the fuck’s wrong with you?” I asked.
Maria’s nostrils flared in anger.. She turned her attention to Anthony and Kenneth who froze, seeing how she’s looking at them as if she’s going to eat them alive.
“And you two!”
“What?!” they both snapped, making a face at her.
She snatched the joint they were smoking, crumpling it her hands before throwing it on the table.
“I’m going to suspend you if I catch you smoking weeds again, you understand?!” she screamed.
“It’s just weeds, Maria! It’s not like we’re doing drugs!” Kenneth retorted to which Anthony agreed.
“No!” she barked. “You might think you can do anything because you’re in North Vale but your parents entrusted you to me and as long as you’re here, you’ll do whatever I ask you to do, do you understand?!”
Anthony and Kenneth cringed. They both nodded their heads, defeated because they knew for a fact that Maria was a close friend of their father and one word from her and they would be punished.
“And don’t think I’m not seeing you, Clark,” Maria said through her gritted teeth, “from now on, you’ll have to inform me if Hiro’s making you tag along with whatever mission you two are doing! Do you even know how pressured I am because your parents leave you to me?!”
Clark’s face remained passive but he nodded obediently.
“I will,” he said.
Maria stomped out of my room, dragging Evan’s bag. Before leaving, she faced me.
With a glare, she said, “if you wanna be with that kid you’re so in love with, stop acting like a psychopath. Trust me, I know.”
She walked away from me.
“Hey, at least let me escort you do -- ”
“I know how I got up here, I know my way down,” she said, lifting her middle finger to flip me off.
I watched her walk through the dimly-lit corridor with Evan struggling to get out of her grasp. I saw her get in the elevator and when she was gone, I sighed.
“Damn, is she on her period?” Anthony asked, standing behind me while checking if Maria’s gone.
“Nah, I’m pretty sure you’re just annoying,” Clark said sarcastically to which Anthony heard.
“Fuck you, Clark!”
I ignored their squabble as I closed the door behind me. Returning back to the living room, I began cleaning everyone’s mess. I stretched the trash bag open, putting all the empty bottles and cans inside.
“Hey, we’re not even finished!” Anthony said.
“By the time you’ll hit 30, you’re probably going to die from all the alcohol you’ve been drinking ever since you were 12,” I said.
Anthony rolled his eyes at me.
“Hey! What’s the other good thing that a tight pussy? You guess it right, it’s alcohol!” he dramatically explained.
“Real mature, Tony,” Clark commented.
He helped me fixed up all their mess. We finished shortly and I asked Kenneth to put the trash bag outside for the janitor to pick it up before 11 p.m.
Everything was in place and I sat down on the couch, satisfied that my living room was clean, just like it was three hours ago.
Clark went in the kitchen to fix himself a coffee while I busied myself looking at my phone, debating if I should call Paige at this time of night. It’s been a while since I last heard his voice.
Amidst all the things that happened today, all I needed to hear was his voice to make me smile.
“You’re staring at your phone again, Blaise,” Kenneth teased, smirking at me.
He sat beside me, peeking at my phone. I pushed him away and he only laughed out loud.
“Hey, who’s the chick you’re so in love with, huh?” he asked, wiggling his brows at me.
“Yeah, the one you’ve been obsessing with,” Anthony added. “Just kidnap her already and fuck her until she falls in love with you.”
I rolled my eyes at their outrageous suggestion. I know someone like that who ended up falling in love with each other.
All of a sudden, I pictured Paige underneath me, naked and begging for more. His teary eyed face, cheeks flushing while lips parted as he moans my name, over and over and over --
Clark woke me up when he put his mug down in front of me. He made coffee for me and I just stared at him, dazed from thinking about Paige.
“What?” he asked in irritation.
“Nothing.”
“It’s a long night, you’re gonna need that,” Clark said, sipping his cup.
“If you wanna be with that kid you’re so in love with, stop acting like a psychopath. Trust me, I know.”
Remembering Maria’s words, I pondered Paige’s reaction once he discovers who I really am.
Will it gratify me or will it destroy me?

I sighed, ignoring the guy who we’re supposed to be torturing screaming his lungs out while Anthony’s plucking his nails one by one using pliers.
I remained sitting down on the chair, smoking cigarettes.
“Not gonna join?” Clark asked.
“Later,” I replied before yawning.
“Aaaaaaaaaagh!” the guy howled in pure agony.
His face was warped in pain, teeth gritting as Anthony pulled the last nail in his right hand. Blood dripped on the floor while the guy cried out in defeat.
“Jesus, for a guy, you’re screaming like a fucking girl,” Anthony commented, throwing the pliers on the floor.
Kenneth, who was standing beside him, gripped the guy’s hair to make him look up.
“N-no…no…more,” he begged, crying, “no…more…sir…”
“Hey, look at me,” Kenneth said, slapping him hard on the face to make him focus, “you killed PO1 Mendoza, right?”
“No -- !”
Another solid slap on the face and the guy cried out again from biting his tongue. He struggled against Kenneth’s hold but it was futile.
“Don’t make me ask again,” he threatened. “Just tell me the truth. Did you kill PO1 Mendoza?”
The guy was about to answer but Kenneth stopped him.
“Hey, you still have one hand so you better answer correctly,” he reminded, eyes glaring hard at the man in front of him.
Out of fear, he finally confessed the truth, “y-yes…yes! I was hired t-to kill Mendoza!”
Anthony rolled his eyes.
“Oh come on! It’s not even Hiro’s turn to have fun with you and you’re already flipping?!” he complained.
“He’s still not saying who hired him,” Clark mentioned and the two brothers perked up.
“Oh, right!”
[End of Uncensored Part]
The guy paled but before I could see his reaction, my phone vibrated inside my pocket. I took it out, thinking it was Carlos checking out what’s happening with the hitman who was hired to kill one of his boys in the police department but much to my surprise it was someone else.
Paige.
I immediately looked at the time and it was one in the morning. What in the world’s he calling me for at this time of night?
Does he need my help?
I picked up his call, putting my phone on my ear.
“What?” I asked, feeling a little bit nervous because something might have happened to Paige and I don’t have enough time to go and save him.
“It’s all your fault!” he suddenly blurted out.
I was dumbfounded with what he had said.
“What the fuck are you talking about?”
He was quiet for a second.
“I can’t sleep.”
For some weird reason, I imagine him pouting and the image was damn tempting me to forget everything here in North Vale and go to Paige without the care for the world.
Nevertheless, I answered him in my usual tone of voice, “and how’s that my problem?”
“It’s because of you.”
His answer made me smile.
“Stop thinking about me and maybe you’ll fall asleep,” I teased, smirking when I heard a bed creaking from the other line.
“I am definitely not thinking about you, ass!”
Damn it, he’s calling me an ass and yet I’m happy about it.
“Why are you calling me then? I’m in the middle of something,” I said after Clark motioned me that I still have a job to do.
The guy sitting on the chair, all bloody with his face messed up from Kenneth’s relentless punching uttered a low moan of pain. I rolled my eyes in irritation, knowing that Paige could hear it.
“Y-you’re…you…pervert!” he stammered.
I blinked.
Was he thinking I’m having sex right now? I wouldn’t have picked up his phone call if I was.
Looking at one of the guys from my group, I said, “hey, shut him up. I’ll come back.”
I left the room, ignoring the fact that Kenneth and Anthony were toying with the guy. In a matter of minutes, he would be dead and Carlos would have been pissed because we didn’t get anything out of him.
I closed the door and continued talking to Paige.
“Answer me,” I beckoned.
“What?”
I leaned on the wall, took out my box of cigarette and started smoking.
“Why are you calling me, Paige? It’s one in the morning.”
“I know that. I’m…just…I hate you, okay?”
I smirked.
“No you don’t.”
“What makes you say that?”
“If you hate someone, you wouldn’t be calling him in the middle of the night, just to say that you hate him,” I reasoned out.
Paige went quiet for a second and I was delighted the cat got his tongue, meaning I have that kind of effect on him.
“Maybe I’m just calling to annoy you?”
Hmmm, smart-ass, huh? I like that.
“That’s impossible.”
“Huh? Why?” he asked, sounding exhausted from my comebacks.
“Because -- ”
The door opened and Clark got out, motioning me to come inside.
“Hey, Kurdi’s talking. You might wanna hear what he’s gonna say,” he informed.
I tightened my hand holding the phone but before I could break it, I hit the end call button. Clark was waiting for me by the door, understanding what had happened.
“Paige?” he assumed.
“Yeah.”
“Sorry I interrupted.”
“Doesn’t matter. Let’s go.”
My phone vibrated, indicating that I received a message. Paige sent me a message.
From Paige
I’M NEVER CALLING YOU AGAIN.
That made me smile.
Damn, why’s he acting so hard to get. From the tone of his voice, he’s always enthusiastic whenever we talked in the phone. Nevertheless, that increased my attraction towards him and it made me yearn for more.
To Paige
Doesn’t matter.
I’ll call you again.
I smiled. Tossing my phone to Clark, I went back inside the continue the business I left. If I let my phone stay with me, it would just tempt me to call back Paige and talk to him all night.
