Ladybug lept through the sky. She only stopped when she found an abandoned building on the edge of town. She transformed and fell. Marinette felt tears play at her eye's. One by one they fell. The girl sobbed. Tikki tried to offer comfort, but in her emotional flux Marinette couldn't handle it. "GO AWAY TIKKI!!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!!" Marinette shouted. Hurt, the kwami flew off.
Marinette cried for hours and hours. The words echoing in her mind. The sun started to rise. As Marinette calmed herself down, she gazed at Paris. It was beautiful. She wanted to cry again. She sat on the edge of the building and looked down. She was a good 50 stories up. Marinette directed her attention back to Paris. She stood up, took one last glance at the beauty of her city, and closed her eyes. Marinette was so ready to stop to pain, she felt herself falling in slow motion. Her life flashed before her eyes as she remember all of the happy times she had. The eye's she had shut tight, let off a few tears and a sad smile crossed her face. Suddenly, her peaceful decent came to an end and she opened her eyes.
Marinette had felt herself being caught. She opened her eyes to blond hair and black leather. She clutched it in her hand as reality hit. Chat set himself and Marinette down in a nearby park. Marinette let go of him and stood there looking down. "Marinette. What were y-you doing!" Chat voice cracked. Marinette looked up to see tears pouring from his eyes. "W-what...Why?! Mari, why would you even?" Marinette tried to hold back uncontrollable sobs as she hugged herself. "I-I don't... I don't bel-long here. I just c-cause trouble every w-where I g-go. I just th-thought that m-ayb-e if I-I was g-gone, every-yone w-would b-be hap-pier..." Marinette fell to the ground still holding herself. She sobbed. Marinette felt a pair of arms wrap their way around her. 'Chat.' "I-I'm so s-sorry!" She called out, clenching the black leather of his outfit in her hands when she hugged him back. "Mari." He spoke softly. "We're better if with you here. The world is a better place because of everything you do. Whether you're saving someone from having a bad day, or when you're saving Paris." Marinette's head shot up. "How did you-" "How do you think I knew to come here? Tikki found me. She found all of us." Chat gestured toward the crowed of people the surrounded them. Marinette hadn't even noticed them. Her mom and dad, Alya and Nino. Kim, Ivan, Meylene, and Max. Rose, Julica, and Nathan. Even Alix, and Sabrina. "Where's Adrien dude? He should be here too." Nino said to Tikki who and been floating near by. She just laughed. "He's here." Is all she said. Chat laughed and let down his transformation. "A-Adrien!?" Marinette said in surprised. Everyone gasped. Adrien laughed shyly.
"Listen Marientte. Whether your M'Lady, My princess, or my friend you do everything you can for the world around you." He stood up a opened his arms. "We all see it. We all see you. You are beautiful, smart, funny, talented, driven, enthusiastic, and there. You're there for strangers, for friends, even for enemies. You amaze me and everybody else everyday." Marinette smiled as tears rolled down her face as Adrien reached a hand out to help her up. She threw her arms around him and held him tight. Adrien gently hugged her back and she cried onto his shoulder. He hummed quietly in an attempt to calm her. It worked. Everyone else joined in the hug. It was filled with smiles, laughter, and tears, but most importantly, it was filled with love.
As the hug spread back out a voice could be heard from a few feet away. It was Lila, but that wasn't what surprised everyone. The surprising thing was what she dragged behind her. It was Chloe. Her hands her bound behind her rope and her mouth was duct taped shut. "Sorry to break up the moment, but I've got someone who's got something to say." Lila ripped the tape off Chloe's mouth. "Oww!" "Spill." She said sternly. Chloe grumbled. She sat on her knees looking down. The words she spoke were almost in audible. "Louder!" Lila demanded. "I hired the creep how followed Marinette." Chloe said a little louder. Gasped could be heard throughout the crowd. "And?!" Lila said. "And I told him to say those things. I didn't think she'd be hurt that badly!" Chloe pleaded. "AND!?" Lila demanded impatiently. "And I set up the whole thing hoping to humiliate Marinette. None of it was real, it was all me." Chloe said. She turned her head to Marinette with tear filled eyes. "But I never meant to push you so far. I'm so, so sorry Marinette. I know nothing can make up for what I've done, but I just want you to know that I am dreadfully sorry." The kids started to shout at Chloe, she hung her head miserably as the sat tied up on the ground. "Yeah right Chloe!" "Serves her right." "You don't know the meaning of sorry." The adults did nothing. Marinette stood with a stern face. She walked over the Chloe. If they weren't already, phones were pulled out and put on video. Marinette looked down at the blonde haired girl "Chloe Bourgeois". She knelt down and Chloe flinched. "Please look me in the eye." Reluctantly, Chloe peared into Marinette's stern eye's. Marinette studied the girls eyes. While she saw the same prissy little brat in Chloe's face no matter how many tears she conjured, in her eyes she could see more. She saw something good. As a moment passed and Marinette's eye's softened. "I forgive you." Marinette said. Everybody froze as Marinette wrapped her arms around Chloe and undid her ropes. Tears flooded out of Chloe's shock filled eyes, ruining her makeup. "W-why?!" Was all she could say. Marinette pretended to think a moment. "Hmmm. I don't know? Why don't you work on giving me a reason too." Marinette smiled and winked as she opened her arms. Chloe started to cry again, throwing herself into Marinette's arms. Marinette helped her to stand up and the two smiled at each other. Everyone was still frozen in shock.
Marinette's parents regained composure and walked toward the little girl. Chloe took that as her cue to join the crowd. Marinette bowed her head, shame overcoming her like a shadow. Adrien watched as her smile melted off her face and she hid her eye's. He wanted to comfort her. A moment of silence passed when Marinette felt her self being engulfed by two large arms and two other smaller ones. She smiled and accepted the embrace. Her parent's backed off and Marinette watched as her dad wiped a tear from his eye. "My little girl saves Paris then?" He said. Marinette laughed. "Yeah." "You-you'll stay safe right?" "Of course Papa. I always am." They all hugged again.
Marinette's dad stood up tall and stealed his face. He then marched over to Adrien. Adrien felt himself break into a cold sweat and a shiver run up and down his back as Marinette's dad towered over him. "You'd better take care of her. You hear. You proved that you are worthy today, but one slip up as Adrien or as Chat and I won't need and akuma to-" "Dad! You're going to scare him. " Marinette said pulling her dad away from Adrien. "I-I understand sir." He said. "I don't get how you are gonna protect me. You're just a kitten." Marinette teased. "I am not. I am a furr-ocious black cat." He declared striking a pose. Marinette raised and eyebrow. "Oh yeah?" "Yeah." He said grinning. Marinette's hand shoot toward his head. And started to scratch. Adrien was frozen in confusion. "What are you--*Purrr* *Purrr* *Purr-*" Adrien jumped away and covered his mouth. His face was a tomato. Marinette laughed. "You sure are threatening." Adrien pouted. "Oh shush. How did you know that would work? I didn't even know I do that." Marinette shrugged and laughed again. "You're a cat, I took a guess." Adrien just pouted some more. 'But I'm not even transformed.' "Oh come on, are you mad at me?" Marinette teased, inching closer to do it again. As she reached for his head, he grabbed hand and turned around. "Sorry, not his time purrincess." He said with his signature grin. Marinette laughed as the stood up and pulled him in for a kiss. He leaned in too, but pulled away quickly. "Sorry princess, but I don't think that's the best idea." When Marinette looked at him confused, he gestured to giant glaring at him. "I don't feeling like dying." Marinette blushed. She'd forgotten that they weren't alone, then she laughed. She took Adrien's hand and looked up at him. "Come on. Let's go home silly kitty." "I can't think of anything better M'Lady." The two walk, followed by the crowd of people. Marinette rested her head on Adrien's shoulder as the walked. The smiled at each other, certain everything would be okay from now on.
