I appear at the spot Zachary has asked me out to. Self-consciousness consumes me. Does my dress make me look fat? Do my heels make me look overly-tall? Should I tie up my hair?
Then Zachary arrives.
He was dressed in a casual shirt and jeans. My consciousness disappears. Zachary does not seem concerned about clothing. I guess that's the first thing I fell in love with. The way he wanted love from people who appreciated who he was inside.
"Hi," he smiles. That is the next thing I start to like about him. I start liking him in a day, and he makes the ambience so comfortable.
"Where are we going?" I ask. I might have been concerned if it was someone else, but I am not with Zachary. I feel comfortable with a near-stranger.
"To the music shop," he says. He has a smile on all the while. A music shop is no ideal date location.
Do you do music?
It kind of made sense to me then. I would fall in love next with his love for music.
The music shop is empty. The rooms are assorted with instruments. He goes over to the Modern section without hesitation. I, too, without thinking twice, follow him.
He picks up a guitar, showing it to me. "What do you think?" he asks. He's asking me to choose a guitar for him.
Quickly, I look around. Clearly, his choice is the best.
I give a nod of approval.
He starts playing.
Sultans of Swing, he tells me.
