I just want you to be happy Joy.. That's all a father could ask for of his daughter
Joy ears burned as she remembered her father's words that echoed around her, It seemed her lack of sleep was finally starting to affect her and she knew she needed to hurry. She bit her lip as she tried to push those thoughts out of her head and focus on the road. It was almost Midnight and she had been on the road for the past 3 days, Taking short breaks every few hundred Miles. The Long drive from Arizona to Kentucky had not been easy. But she knew that this was what she needed the most. It had been 3 months since her father had died in a car crash. Joy had turned into a husk of herself due to it, Her once constant sweet smile had been replaced with a soft frown, Her sweet bright emerald green eyes turned dull looking like a worn out stone that needed polishing. And due to her staying indoors so much in grief her sunny Tanned skin turned pale and almost lifeless. Her happiness disappearing along with her happiness.
Joy kept silent as she drove, Her eyes scanning around her as she looked for the Dirt road that would lead her to her grandmother's farm. Once her eyes caught sight of a small hanging blue sign that shone a bit meeting her headlights. She slowed down and slowly pulled into the dirt road dimming down her bright lights and slowly drove down the dirt road till she saw a beat up looking blue farmhouse, even in the darkness the bright color of the almost neon blue house shone brightly. Joy slowly pulled up and parked her care, Turning off her lights and, For a few moments just sat in the dark silent care. She closed her eyes and just let the night air encase her like a protective blanket. Finally a sigh escaped her lips and she opened the door, She climbed out and grabbed her stuff out of her rugged white truck and slamming the doors closed. Joy dragged her bags up to the farmhouse slowly and opened the front door with ease. She rolled her eyes softly at this seeing, Of course Granny would leave the door unlocked. Joy thought with a small smile on her lips, she stepped inside the house setting her bags down next to the door, and looked around the area. The place was very. Blue? Almost everything in the house was a odd color of blue. From blue carpet, lampshades, couch, hell even the walls were blue with white stripes. Joy reached for a lamp but before she could turn it on the lights turned on, Joy was surprised by this but hear a cough on her left. Next to the hallway of the living room a old women sat in a wheelchair, She was dressed in a blue nightgown and even in her old age she was pretty, Bright hazel eyes, wavy white hair and a sweet smile on her lips. Joy gave the old women a sad smile and walked towards her.
“Granny..” “My darling sweet Joy.. Come here, Give your Granny a Hug”
Joy walked over to her Granny and got on her knees hugging the women tightly. Granny wrapping her arms around her in return, Joy shoulders began to shake as she pressed her face into her grandmother's body and began to cry, Soft sobs began to leave her lips as she held onto her Granny. The old woman rubbing her back as she hugged her.
Joy had now been on the farm for about two weeks. Nothing had really changed much, Joy would work on the small garden that was next to the house, Or talk to some of the part time workers that helped with the farm animals or help her Granny out. Since Granny was confined to a wheelchair she sometimes need help, Although the old bird was always stubborn about it. “Granny.. You know if you need help you can just ask me” Joy said as she watched from the door frame of the kitchen as Granny was trying to grab a cup that got pushed back just a little bit out of her reach and she was trying to get it using a pair of salad tongs Granny gave Joy a sharp look as she kept at trying to get the Cup “I don't need no help! I got it on my own” Joy watched for a few more seconds as Granny tried getting the cup but ended up sliding it further back. Granny gave a defeated sigh and Joy walked over knowing that was her cue, She grabbed the cup and handed it to Granny. “Don't Get cocky Joy, I used to wipe your ass when you where first born Girly!” Joy laughed at her Granny as the women took the cup and tapped her with the Tongs on the leg “Haha, Well i'm 24 now so i guess you can’t use that as leverage anymore” Granny Shrugged as she wheeled over to the table and poured herself some ice tea. “Maybe. But still, I can still take care of myself. And I don't like you fussing over me either, I may be old but im not helpless” Joy put her hands up like a sign of surrender “Okay Okay. I'll keep that in Mind, But if you do need anything just ask me” Granny nodded happily at this and sipped her tea “By the way Joy. Tonight I am going out to Bingo, So you will be on your own this evening Okay?” Joy narrowed her eyes at her Granny Suspiciously and stepped forward. Granny began to sweat and tried to chug her drink to get out of there “Bingo hm? ….You wouldn't be going out to a Bar or something Granny?” Granny looked like she was ready to Jump from her skin “Because last time you went out to a Bar you ended up being arrested and they had to call me from Arizona saying that my Grandmother was overnight for public Indecency and flirting with several police officers” Granny seemed to be shrinking away in in her seat “H-Hehe I promise my dear sweet Joy, No heavy alcohol will be involved at all, It's Just Bingo” Joy shook her head but nodded softly seeing that she promised.
That evening Joy watched from the porch as a Van came to pick up Granny to take her to the Bingo house. She had her arms crossed as she watched silently, slowly slipping off into a deep thought. She snapped out of her thoughts when she heard the Van honk and drive away. Joy had a bad feeling about this but only sighed at it. She turned her attention to the part time workers that were about to leave, There was only 5 of them but they did great work. She watched them walk in front of the farm house towards their own trucks, One of the guys looking back at Joy and walking towards her. Joy cursed at herself as he got closer. Michael Fornell, Aka Country Thor as Joy liked to call him, his long blond hair was put up in a bun and his bright blue eyes locked onto her like she was a target. He was shirtless and in a pair of low cut jeans that showed off the ‘V’ of his body, No one could deny that he was hella attractive. A amazing build with a natural sexy face. Joy tried to keep her eyes on his face and she felt herself beginning to panic inside herself. “Hey Joy. Just wanted to say that we are heading off now” Joy just nodded at him softly trying to keep herself from staring “Okay Michael.. See ya on Monday..” Joy said in a soft voice and looked down shyly. Michael Smiled at seeing her look down shyly. He gave a soft nervous chuckle and scratched behind his head “Well Uh Joy.. I was actually wondering If you were busy tonight? I've been wanting to see the Newest Marvel movie that came out and I was wondering if you would like to come?” Joy felt like the very air in her lungs had frozen. Country Thor wants to go out with me!? Joy gave him a soft smile and rubbed her arm nervously “I would love to.. But I can't tonight, I need to wait here for Granny to get back, And make sure she doesn't get into any trouble. But that doesn't mean you can't ask me out another time” Micheal face lit up at hearing this and he gave a wide beautiful smile showing her his almost unnatural white smile “Okay then! I’ll make sure to take you up on that later on miss Joy” Michael said with a wink, He sighed hearing the other workers beginning to call for his to hurry up, He said bye to Joy and practically skipped to his Truck climbing in, His fellow workers hooping and hollering at him in teases. He Waved at Joy again as he drove off the property. Joy smiled as she stood there watching him driving off, Her heart for the first time in a while feeling like it was actually there. She ventured back inside enjoying her high. Joy began to straighten up the Blue house for while before venturing off to her room. Her room was the only one in the house that wasn't blue, Her room was a simple beige, A multicolored Quilt covering her bed and a simple wooden dresser. Joy plopped down on her bed and began to go through her phone to pass some time, But soon she grew bored. She began to explore her room a bit more, Finding nothing really too special. But right when she was about to give up something caught her eye. In the corner of the room she was a little lip on the ceiling, Almost like a door or panel. Joy walked over and jumped up grabbing the little lip pulling it down slowly. A Cloud of dust fell down and stairs slowly slid down from the door, It was a attic door. Joy grabbed her phone turning on the flash on it before going to explore the new area.
Joy climbed up into the dusty attic space, She looked around slowly using her phone. The room was filled with mainly boxes and dusty old stuff. Joy opened a random box and found some old posters. She began to go through them. The posters where of her Granny when she was younger with a man. In big bold Blue letters were written ‘Kentucky Exorcist’ Joy stared over the poster, mainly the man next to Granny. He kinda looked like her father but different, Darker hair and a lighter skin. She shrugged it off before going through more stuff. She sound more posters, Ouija boards, crosses, holy water containers, and a bunch of other weird stuff. “What kind of shit was Granny into back in the day?” Joy kept on with her searching till she found something that really caught her interest. She found a stack of old looking books in the corner, Joy picked one of them up and blew off the literal inches of dust. She opened up the first page and saw some weird but cool looking symbols, She began to finger through the old ages. The ancient looking book seemed to be held together by a few staples and a prayer. As she looked through the pages her finger nicked over one of the staples slicing deep into it. She dropped to book and looked at her finger. She cursed at herself as the thick blood dripped down. Drops landing on the open pages. Joy placed her finger in her mouth sucking out the blood, She wasn't paying attention to notice her blood sinking into the pages and the book closing by itself. She grumbled under her breath and picked up her phone that she had set down. That's when she saw the book beginning to shake, Her eyes got wide and she began to step back watching as the book began to slide across the floor and shake vigorously. Finally the book bursted open and a bright almost blinding light flashed in the attack, a force threw Joy across the room slamming her against the old wall. Joy groaned in pain as she magically seemed to stay conscious after this, she slowly began to pull herself to sit. She heard the floor creak in front of her and looked up following the sound. Towering above her stood a man. His skin was a beautiful tan that seemed to shine even in the attic space that was only lit by a single phone and black tattoos that wrapped around his arms, legs and waist. His body looked like it had been sculpted by the most delicate and skilled hands like every muscle had been made with the utmost care, his hair looked like black silk that reached his ears, his eyes which where locked onto Joy’s seemed to never stay one color. Changing from blue, to green, to gray. Joy felt frozen in her place as she stared up at him, inside she felt like she should lay by his feet and sleep forever. Never to wake. She was snapped out of her odd thoughts by his voice. “...Why have I been summoned.. By a child no less” His voice was so deep and seductive without meaning to be that it felt like it was rattling Joy’s bones. He looked at her in distaste as he looked around himself clearly just as confused as Joy was. “S-summoned? I never summoned you… W-Wait.. Who.. What are you?..” Joy voice was shaky and low as she looked up at the beautiful being in front of her. The man seemed to almost growl at her and a clap of thunder sounded around them as he spoke “Lucifer..”
