The corner. It was always in the corner. The only times it left was to follow its host wherever they went. A black mass of nothing, merely whispers in the wind and blights in the shadows. An evil congregation of ill will and bad deeds. It was frightening, always limply hanging there in the corner it resided in. It did no harm, but its stare was icy and harbored a hatred unlike any other. This was a haunting, not a possession. There were no lingering sentiments that dictated that host specifically chosen, they were just there. To wake up everyday and see the black cloud watching closely and to go to sleep knowing it's watching; Hell on Earth. This being was not there, but it was. Though not a hallucination, it didn't originate from any of the three realms. It merely looked on. Catastrophe was not wrought and calamity was not left in its wake. Just its presence was frightening; that must have been its sole purpose. To get used to it was not a choice. Always, always. It oozed a miasma that couldn't be avoided nor prepared for. Through all of the days, it roams and roams; for no comprehensible purpose. Screams of agony filled the room, as there was no end to the torture without strings. The host had been strung properly along his walls as the being went in search for another masterpiece to call its own.
