As the clouds cleared to reveal the full moon, Shae waited outside, leaning against his car that he parked up against the curb. His gaze stared up at the sky. The moon glistened, casting its calming glow upon every thing that touched the earth.
Shae closed his eyes, wishing to it, Allow me to be calmed by you, too. Soothe my inner turmoil, so I may enjoy this night with him.
At the chime of a bell ringing through the autumn air, Shae opened his eyes to see Kylian standing in the doorway, looking at him. He leaned against the frame, a slight lift to his lips.
"You came," Kylian said, his smooth voice sending chills down Shae's spine. His legs stepped forward, closing the gap between the two, until he stood before Shae. Kylian placed his hand against the car, just grazing Shae's ear.
Burning. Burning like the blood in my veins, Shae thought as he held his ear. A loud thundering echoed inside.
Kylian leaned down and whispered into Shae's other ear, "I want to show you something. Can I?" Shae held his breath, afraid that if he didn't, something might escape, something revealing how Kylian's actions excited him. "Well?" Shae blinked his eyes.
"S--Sure." Kylian stroked Shae's strawberry cheeks, his chest thumping wild. His gaze wandered lower.
Staring at the lips he so badly wanted to touch, Kylian said, "We'll have to take my car."
"But, what about mine?" Shae patted his, glancing at it for a moment.
"I'll drive you back to it when we're done." Shae looked at him and nodded.
Kylian took a hold of Shae's hand and led him to his car parked in the back of the building.

The scenery passed by in a blur as Kylian drove down a road leading outside of town. The quaint, little buildings, a symbol of the bustling area, grew smaller and smaller until disappearing. Large trees replaced each of them. Shae wondered where they could be going as the straight road they traveled on winded around a corner.
"You're not planning on killing me, right?" Shae joked, his heartbeat thundering nervously. A hearty laugh boomed through the car.
Shae turned to see Kylian's dark silhouette, almost towering over him. He couldn't make out any features, except for the whites of two eyes, which now seemed gray. The image terrified him.
Shae sunk into his seat, pushing against his car door as he said, "You didn't answer me."
Kylian glanced over at Shae to see him cowering like a lost sheep, trying to be as far as possible from him. He reached out, to which Shae flinched. Kylian pulled back and ruffled his own hair. He kept his gaze on the curving road before them.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to show you I mean no harm. I promise I won't hurt you," Kylian told Shae, his voice coming out soft.
"Where are we going?"
"Somewhere remarkable," Kylian said, his words simple. Shae narrowed his eyes.
"Yeah, but where?"
Kylian kept his mouth shut; he refused to ruin the surprise for Shae.
"Not answering, huh? Farrah told me to be cautious of guys like you. Let--"
Kylian sighed, pleading with eyes as he looked at Shae, "Please, trust me. If you think I'll hurt you, I'll let you out right now. You can call Farrah. Tell her to come get you." Shae thought it over. It didn't seem like Kylian meant any harm. His words sounded true, honest, unwavering. Maybe he could trust Kylian for now, keeping his hand on his phone at all times, of course.
Shae sat up, fixing his button-down shirt that became disheveled. So much for going home and picking out this outfit, he huffed to himself, I hope he doesn't think I'm a slob. Shae's eyes flicked over to Kylian, who stared out the window. Kylian tapped his fingers against the steering wheel in an unusual beat. Is he even keeping a pattern? Shae thought to himself.
From the corner of his eye, Kylian looked over at him, meeting Shae's lingering gaze. They both averted their eyes, surprised and nervous of the other. The air turned heavy around them.
Shae looked out his window at the passing trees. Please, let this drive end soon.

The car turned off the road and onto the unsteady gravel below. It shook the two seated inside, but neither minded a little quaking.
As the car came to a halt, Shae stared at the looming landmass towering over the small car, its height covering them in darkness and blocking out the night sky. He glanced over to Kylian, who already hopped out. His own seat belt flew off him and hit the car door with a clang. Shae raced out the door.
"Where are we?" he asked. Kylian gave him a small smile before beginning to climb effortlessly. In his hands sat a heavy-looking mass. Shae watched his figure start to leave him before sprinting after it. He remained silent.
Reaching the top, Shae looked out to see the town a tiny speck in the distance, its glow dimmer than before they left. Opposite of it sat a forest stretching as far as he could see. A small trail led inside, but Shae couldn't tell how far it ventured, if it had an outlet at all. He wondered who would be stupid enough to go inside the menacing thing.
The loud sound of flapping in the tranquil silence made Shae turn around. Kylian spread out a large blanket that stretched over most of the hilltop. He sat down, the grass crunching under him.
Kylian looked up and reached his hand out for Shae to take. Shae's timid hand slipped into his. He noted its large size, much bigger than his. Warmer, too.
Kylian pulled him down.
