The ship was torn apart plank by plank with each bombardment of cannon balls. Shouts of men engulfed by the roaring waves re-emerged when flames and smoke started eating up the starboard side in its formidable wake, undeterred by the water surrounding them.
Yet the captain and his crew did not cease their attack. In the face of a foe who will bring nothing but destruction, one cannot afford to be sentimental.
