This is where Buck tries to push Charlie away...because he's falling for him and it will hurt more when Charlie leaves him...cause everyone eventually leaves Buck...Buck doesn't love himself and doesn't understand why anyone would love him either... and up till now, Buck has successfully pushed everyone away...so when Charlie stays, Buck is going to be in territory he's never been in...a relationship! Maybe?
