The nurse left down the pristine, white hallway, preparing for the surgery. She pushes into the operating room and pulls on her mask. "It is a go for the operation. Now we got to do this fast." She announced to her team.
At that, the doctors did not wait another minute. Scalpels and tweezers were pulled out and they got hard at work at saving this child. It did not take them long as they were accustomed to scientific procedures much more complicated than this.
"Now, run a test to see if there are traces of the Serum." The nurse said, wiping her forehead clean of the beads of sweat.
A faint beeping and crying later, the doctor came in with the results. "Um, not enough to say that it would grow up a successful adaptationist, but it would live. We can monitor it's life as it grows up..." the doctor offered.
The nurse cursed under her breath and leaned against a metal cabinet as she tore of her plastic gloves. "What gender is it?" She asked.
"It's a baby girl, healthy. Why?"
"No reason... I will go talk to boss again." She said, pushing off, having a rock in her stomach the entire way there.
