“Help me Tetsu!” Mia said over the phone, likely in tears from the impending attack from her boyfriend. Right now I was maintaining a magical barrier that protected my fellow superheroes from the attacks of a follower of darkness, Spade. He was raining down magical beams while
“I’m a little busy! Right now.... and likely far away.”
“There isn’t any time! He’s starting to break through the door!” Really? Is he really that crazy?
“All right… where are you?”
“Somewhere downtown! I am not sure.” Okay… close she is close enough.
“Do you think that you can escape if he gets distracted?”
“Um… Yes! I can climb out the window.”
“Do you think your puny barrier can stop me? Take this!” Spade taunted. He cast a spell that engulfed him in a cloud of smoke. The other Arc Heroes couldn’t aim at him.
“I can’t see him! I don’t know where to aim!” Arc Yellow called out.
“Large energy spike detected!” Commander Cecilia shouted. “He’s charging up an attack!”
We’re about to get attacked and a dear friend is in trouble. Everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong. At that moment, I had an idea I didn’t like.
I turned to Arc Violet. “I need speed! Now!” She looked at me and nodded. With a swift wave of her hand she gathered sparking magical energy in her hand.
“Enhance speed!” She shouted as she waved her hand toward me. Now my movement was sped up.
“Mia? You’ll get a distraction soon. Don’t be afraid of it but use that chance to escape. Got it?”
“Okay but how will I know?” Mia asked unsure.
“You’ll be like ‘What the heck was that?’” I said in jest as I plant my feet firmly on the ground. “Don’t miss it Mia!”
“The energy is peaking!” Ceilia was in a panic. “Arc Green! What are you planning?”
“Get ready the combination attack everyone!” I say as I toss a small circular bell to Arc Violet. I look at the fellow Arcs. “Got it?” They looked amongst each other for a moment. Then nodded to me.
“This is reckless Green!” Ceilia shouted over the magical comms. “Enhance speed makes you faster but also eliminates air resistance! If you jump...”
“Don’t worry! I’ll be sure to use protection!” I shrunk the green barrier to just surround me so I could concentrate the defensive power.
“Spade is firing!”
“Tetsu!” Mia called out.
“METEOR!”

I was hiding in my boyfriend’s washroom. There was a tub, sink, toilet way being dimly lit by my smartphone and the moonlight through a partially open window. My phone against my ear. I was holding the door shut with my body weight as my boyfriend pounded against it.
“Mia! Open up!” He shouted. “You’re not being honest with me!”
“You’re scaring me!”
“There you go again! Always overreacting! Open the door MIA!” I closed my eyes as I held the phone in my hand. If someone could just distract the danger behind the door… I could escape through the window.
“Tetsu!” I whispered over the phone.
BOOM! A heartshaking sound and a rumbling floor shook me off balance. That wasn’t the door. What the hell was that? I heard many car alarms go off outside. The pounding on the door stopped. This was my chance to escape!
I quickly opened the window and climbed out. I was lucky this was on the first floor. As my socks hit the grass with a slightly unpleasant mushy feeling. The car alarms were still going off. I started to head to street with under the streetlights. A few people started to started to walk outside of their houses. Some to shut off the car alarms. Others started to talk to each other trying figure out what’s going on. Since there were more people out in the street, it became far more safe and my boyfriend wouldn’t do anything in the public’s eye. I decided to head home without looking back. But what the heck just happened?

“METEOR!” I lept straight toward dark smoke Spade created. My magically enhanced speed and leg strength left a small crater on the ground and a shockwave that boomed through air. I was a streak of green that flew through the air. My sheer speed tore a hole in the smoke revealing Spade.
“What’s this?” Spade looked around shocked that his cover disappeared. He lost his concentration. Of course at this point I was almost 2 kilometers in the sky so I barely could see what was going on.
“Goddamit Arc Green! You broke the isolation barrier AND sound barrier didn’t you?!” Our commander shouted in the comms. “Now some people are thinking there was a small earthquake too!”
“Arc Violet! Engage!” I could still hear them over the comms. Looks they are starting the combination attack.
“Arc Yellow! Engage!”
“Hahaha! Do not think you can fool me Team Arc!” Spade laughed as he held his belly in the sky. “You need all 5 members to perform that move. And I count 4. Go back to school and learn how to count!”
“Arc Blue! Engage!” At this point I reached the peak of my higher-than-a-skyscraper-leap. Far down below a bell was on the grass in my position of the combination attack. The bell started to glow.
“Teleport!” I shouted in the middle of the night sky. Suddenly I appeared where the bell was placed with a grin on my face. I took hold of my green colored grip on the combination weapon. “Arc Green! Engage!”
“Arc Red! Engage! Combination attack!” All holding our combination weapon, we aimed it towards Spade and unleashed a multi-coloured magical beam attack.
“What? I thought you were over a kilometer away!” Spade hovered with shock. The beam, although it was homing, on managed to land a glancing blow on Spade's chest as he dodged. “Arrrgh! Blast you Arcs! That stings! You’ve won this time. But I’ll take you down next time!” With that he floated away.
“Yay! We did it!” Arc Yellow jumped up and cheered! We all started to give each other high-fives.
“Woo! That was crazy Green my man!” Red gave me a fist bump.
“Crazy is right Arc Green!” Commander Ceilia didn’t sound too happy. “We’re going to have a talk! But for now everyone leave the area. The police are coming.” Oh boy. Now I was in trouble.
“Alright Team! Let rendezvous at the base!” Arc Red declared. With those words we lept away back onto the building rooftops. I received a text on my phone from Mia.
“I’m okay. I made it out and on my way to sis. Thanks Tetsu!” Her words made me feel like it was all worth it. But then out of the corner of my eye not only do I see some police cars but also some news vans. I get the feeling our commander is going to blow a gasket.
