And there, with the light from the Fakkel behind her, she looked out across the black waves. The sea was endless and it was unclear where exactly the horizon was. Sea blended into sky with eerie perfection. Only the soft light of the moon above gave any indication of where the sky was. If it were to be obscured, the sea might as well have been above and the sky stretching out in front.
Karla whispered to herself. Or perhaps to the waves around her. It wasn't frantic nor was it frightened whispers, it was simply mutterings, but the importance they held was amazing. But none was around to hear them, except for the sky and the sea and the moon. But none of those will give up a secret as tender as this.
After she was done she smiled and closed her eyes, preparing herself. She spread her arms out, lifted her head up high, stood on tippy-toes and within a moment, she was falling towards the sandy beach and the waves around her. But it was as if the sky and the sea and the moon all blinked because Karla was gone with only her shoes still standing in safety of the water some distance away.
