'Err- Hello?'
Mia emphasized with slightly higher voice this time. He chuckled softly, motioning for the adorable dog to jump off the bed, away from the confused naked Mia on his bed.
'There's coffee and some delicious bacon in the kitchen. Yes, I am Josh.'
He uttered and turned his back around, ready to walk towards the kitchen with the cheerful dog on his heels. Mia found no consolation with his answer. All she has is a headache and even more questions. A slight rumbling was heard.
I am definitely hungry.
Mia thought of the breakfast offered. It isn't exactly a bad idea especially with her menacing sound of stomach rumbling. Her feet slowly made it's way on the cold, hardwood floor. She quickly reached out for her dress, tangled in between her lingerie.
Her eyes focused on the apparent brown spot on the dress. Slightly annoyed at her own carelessness in drinking and the obvious casualty on one of her favorite dress, she proceeded to dress up.
Mia carefully peeked into the kitchen as she was walking through the living room. There were light blue drapes over the windows, white marble countertop and several neatly fashioned kitchen items. It gave a very warm and homey feeling, quite different from several of the bachelor pads she has been to.
Her nose caught a tasty aroma, several fried greasy bacon strips were stacked on a white plate. Mia gave up, she doesn't really want to proceed with caution anymore.
What bad guy cook breakfast for their victims anyway.
Mia sat down at the dining table, her gaze lingered on Josh. He was still cooking, his back turned on her. Sculpted shoulders, almost glistening from the natural light of the room and his long legs obscured from the height of the kitchen counter.
Damn. He is fine.
Mia felt a rush of fluttery feelings as she let out a sigh. She is quite certain that this man would have no problems getting the ladies. She quickly snapped out of her daze, realizing that Josh had turned off the electric stove.
'So do you want coffee? I might have juice if you don't like coffee.'
Mia caught a little bit off guard, blurted out few inaudible lines. Trying to compensate, she then proceeded to extensively describe how she loves coffee.
'Oh it's alright. I love coffee. Who doesn't? Not me! I love coffee.'
Josh stared at Mia wide-eyed, not knowing the reason behind Mia's sudden proclamation of love for coffee.
'Okay then. Let me get you a mug.'
Josh proceeded to pour the hot contents of a coffee jug into an almost bland looking grey mug.
You idiot. Really?
Mia was grudgingly aware at her awkward social skills. She attempted to change the topic.
'So urmm- about last night? Did we- I mean what happened exactly?'
Josh pulled up a chair and sat down. He smiled, obviously entertained by Mia's convenient amnesia.
'Well. You texted me. Several lengthy messages, it sounded like you were drunk and alone at a bar.'
Mia's face flushed red.
'I thought it was a little bit dangerous. I just asked where you were and I went to see you.'
'But why? I mean, I was kind of shitty for bailing out on the date?'
Josh chuckled. His pair of gorgeous green eyes slightly averted his gaze from Mia.
'Yeah. You were, but I don't really want anything bad to happen to you.'
As his words left his mouth, Mia felt comforted. It doesn't seem like he was upset. On the contrary, he was actually still such a sweetheart.
'I am so sorry for not making it to the date. I just- I urm- was being shitty. Point is, I am sorry.'
Mia sincerely offered her apologies while Josh took a sip from his coffee mug. She waited for an answer only to be greeted with silence and his calm face staring at her.
'Urm- did anything else happened?'
'Did we have sex you mean?'
His grin widened, his back now relaxed against the chair. Enough to show off his rather immaculate abs. Mia tried really hard not to stare.
'Yes. Did we?'
'Nope. It was kinda hard, considering how drunk you were.'
Mia's heart heaved with relief and a hint of disappointment.
'Also, it's not really my kink to take advantage of someone, especially when they are sobbing and cursing at a guy named Caleb.'
His words followed with Mia's overwhelmingly need to just run and hide from this embarrassing revelation.
