Appearance: As with all daemons, Amon’s appearance can vary. But if left to his own devices, he appears handsome, pearly white-haired with deep purple-tinged brown and light gold patterned skin reminiscent of vitiligo. These patterns shift across his skin like clouds. As with the others, Amon has little preference with regards to gender.

Strengths: One of the physically strongest of the daemons, he takes his title of The Shield quite seriously. Amon is recklessly brave, and deeply passionate. He is also one of the most skilled at creative uses of his powers.

Weaknesses: Quick to jump to conclusions, and will rush headlong into most situations. Unable to properly discern what humans consider food.

Personality: Honest and straightforward, genuinely friendly and occasionally offputtingly blunt. Amon is not shy in his likes and dislikes. While he can be hotheaded and argumentative, he is just as quick to admit when he’s wrong. But in the defense of those he cares about, no one is more stubborn.

Combat skills: Amon’s primary skill lies in drawing an attack towards him and deflecting the damage. His base power, Shield, allows him to generate an arm-borne shield of varying sizes and shapes. He can use this as a discus for attack, or as a battering ram.

Even without his shield, Amon’s physical strike is nearly unstoppable.

Non-combat skills: Amon’s strongest ability is Barrier, an effect resembling a gravity lens distortion able to move a chunk of space temporarily slightly out of synch with its surrounding reality. While damage incurred by static, pre-existing objects in Barrier is not carried back over into “The Real”, injuries sustained by living creatures can be.

Amon is also able to expand Shield into Shield Wall, able to protect a large area at once at the expense of his mobility.

Passive: All daemons are capable of what they call “background updating” – able to sense and adjust their stored data based on ambient information. Updating gives them the appearance of shimmering as data moves about. They can also actively update when in a new environment.

Notes: Amon is perhaps the heart of the daemons. And while he doesn’t entirely share Caim’s unwavering faith in the Authors, he has unwavering faith in Caim. He tends to believe in his loved ones more than they do themselves, and in return, he’s well loved by all of them.

As the guardian of earth sciences and gravity, Amon is well-versed as a gardener (a fact that Caim and Berith tend to abuse). He can hear the movement of lava under the earth’s crust and the song of the planet’s magnetosphere if he chooses and frequents wide open spaces where he can enjoy both unencumbered. He despises abuses of the earth like strip mining and fracking and has been known to give inspiration and support to environmental causes where he can.

Amon loves to eat- even if his choices in food aren’t always human-appropriate. He also tends to hoard exotic gems, odd seeds, and the occasional interesting stick.
