Sky City Police Department
Chief Obi stroked his moustache as Alia and Stu walked into the office. He’d gotten a call from Mr. Electric, one of the head honchos over at investigative command, asking about why his future son-in-law was living with a non-Super girl. He’d played dumb and said that he didn’t disclose the personal lives of his subordinates. The static on the phone line had shocked his hands as the head had lost his temper and hung up.
He couldn’t believe the boy had gotten caught up with someone so high profile. But it also confirmed his suspicions as to why Stewart had gotten kicked out of the hero program and been assigned to a minor position here. He could be watched and monitored more easily. As an added bonus, officers disappeared all the time.
Alia handed the chief a mug of coffee during their morning meeting, but he refused it.
Stu quickly handed it off to another officer before the others could notice the gesture. Alia sat in a seat next to Stu and averted her eyes from meeting anyone in the room.
Obi tapped against the podium to gather the attention of the room. “Based on the evidence handed in by Officer Wave, we have linked a series of events. We found a secondhand store that sold a camera that was an older make and model that Miss Feor could have purchased. But it was to a certain person named Dunk. We found this persons name and number in an address book owned by Ms. Fear. And upon further investigation by the cybernetics team we have isolated a certain Dunk Harrison who works as a janitor at Dura’s elementary school.”
There was a murmur among the officers as they were dismissed and assigned new tasks. Many came forward to congradulate him on finally becoming one of the team. Most of them ignored Alia and Stu didn’t volunteer the information as to who had actually found the notebook in the first place.

SKY CITY DISTRICT - ELEMENTARY 4
Slam Dunk the Punk--according to the cybernetics department report he’d gone by the name in his youth and changed his given name to Dunk once he’d gotten older. He’d been a basketball talent in his youth, but unlike Charm City, no one really cared about athletics here where there wasn’t explosions and elemental ability. Therefore, Slam Dunk had ended up as Dunk the janitor.
He was on a ladder lathering windows with soap when Stu and Alia showed up.
“Hi, we’re from the S.C.P.D.”
“I don’t talk to cops.” Dunk spat out as he lathered soap into the corners of the window he was cleaning with his fingers.
Alia started to hew the end of her pen. “We could get your employer involved. I’m sure she’d be happy to terminate an employee who doesn’t want to cooperate with an investigation.”
The muscles in Dunk’s back stilled as he dropped the wiper back into the bucket of soapy water and wrung out his hands. His eyes flashed yellow as he starred at the two standing at the foot of his ladder. He stepped down and even on level ground with Stu he was much taller than either of them.
He sighed. “On with it then.”
Stu cleared his throat, he licked his finger, and flipped a page in his notebook. “What was the nature of your relationship with Miss Emmie Feor?”
His eyes flashed. “I don’t know her.”
Alia pursed her lips. “Then why are we here?”
Dunk rolled his eyes and crossed his arms as he leaned against the ladder. “Maybe I slept with her a couple times. I’m a man you know, I got needs.”
Alia kept her face hard. “Did you ever hit Dura or act aggressively towards her?”
Dunk flinched. “What kind of people are you? No.”
Stu tapped his pen against the notepad. “We know about the camera you sold to the thrift shop.”
He took a deep breath. “Alright I saw her the day she came for the stupid play. She was talking on the phone with some dude. I mean I wouldn’t normally snitch but she died so whatever. She was talking to some fellow to come help her. I mean she’s always ending up in strange situations because she was sleeping around so much. It must’ve been important because once she saw me she hung up. I expected her to run to me crying. But we only dated for four months before she broke up with me. Instead she said she had a sex tape of me with my girlfriend and if I blabbed about the conversaion she would use it. So the night the terrible awful happened I went in her place to teach her a lession. I went there and I took the DVD player and left.”
Stu funneled a stream of water from the soap bucket and used it to pin the janitor against the wall. “And what if you did more.”
Dunk put his hands up. “Hey the player is at my house if you want to see what’s on it.”
Stu and Alia exchanged glances.
