Personally I think the advice is good thing to keep in the back of your mind. Especially when trying to be a leader. You should never make anyone do something that you wouldn't be willing to do yourself. It seems like the least bit of empathy required.
As for Jessica jumping to human testing after that. We'll see how that turns out for her.
